About the team

Partner Solutions Engineering sits within Global Partnerships at the intersection of Stripe’s Product and Engineering teams and the partners that extend Stripe’s platform. We own the partner-side technical outcome for selected partnership work, from architecture and implementation through testing, launch readiness, and production support.

The Ecosystem Partner Solutions Engineering team helps partners build high-quality integrations across Stripe’s app and developer-platform ecosystem. We work across areas such as developer tools, commerce, billing, automation, and data, while helping Stripe turn recurring partner needs into stronger products and reusable integration paths.

Our work has two forms. We deliver priority partner implementations, and we turn the lessons from those implementations into Product feedback, reference architectures, testing and certification paths, and reusable guidance. This allows Stripe to support more partners without treating every implementation as a bespoke project.

What you’ll do

As a Partner Solutions Engineer, Ecosystem, you will own the technical outcome for a portfolio of ecosystem areas and priority partner integrations. You will work directly with partners, Partner Development Managers, Product Managers, and Engineers to move opportunities from technical discovery through implementation and launch.

You will also develop deep expertise in selected parts of Stripe’s app and developer platform. You will identify recurring technical barriers, help Product teams distinguish isolated partner requests from broader platform needs, and create reusable paths that improve the next partner’s experience.

This is a hands-on, partner-facing engineering role. The strongest candidates can move comfortably between partner architecture, API and code-level debugging, Product feedback, delivery planning, and executive communication.

Responsibilities

Own partner technical delivery

• Own technical planning, architecture, implementation support, testing, and launch readiness for selected partner integrations.
• Translate partner goals into clear technical requirements, dependencies, milestones, and success criteria.
• Maintain one accountable technical plan across the partner, Global Partnerships, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Identify delivery risks early and drive technical decisions through launch.
• Lead critical partner escalations and help resolve complex production integration failures.

Manage an ecosystem portfolio

• Own a technical portfolio across multiple ecosystem areas, based on team priorities and your expertise.
• Partner with partnership leads to prioritize integrations and determine where dedicated technical support will create the most value.
• Connect partner technical delivery to adoption, commercial, and user outcomes.
• Prioritize technical engagements based on partner impact, strategic value, implementation readiness, and team commitments.

Develop platform expertise

• Develop deep expertise in Stripe’s app, developer-platform, and extensibility capabilities.
• Advise partners and other Partner Solutions Engineers on embedded experiences, workflow automation, application distribution, permissions, and monetization.
• Maintain reference architectures, implementation guidance, testing standards, and certification paths.
• Track emerging platform capabilities and help priority partners adopt them successfully.

Influence Stripe’s Product roadmap

• Identify recurring friction and unmet partner needs through direct implementation work.
• Distinguish partner-specific requirements from platform gaps that affect multiple integrations.
• Translate implementation evidence into clear Product requirements and recommendations.
• Work with Product and Engineering teams to reach clear decisions on requirements, workarounds, ownership, and sequencing.
• Close the feedback loop with partners when Stripe makes or declines a Product investment.

Create reusable technical leverage

• Turn initial partner builds into repeatable implementation and enablement paths.
• Build prototypes, examples, scripts, or lightweight tooling when they accelerate partner delivery or validate a Product direction.
• Define launch-readiness standards across permissions, authorization, testing, observability, and production support.
• Transition mature integration patterns to scalable support models when they no longer require dedicated engineering ownership.
• Contribute to shared team standards for custom partner applications, incidents, escalations, and partner handoffs.

Measure outcomes

• Define and track technical milestones, launch outcomes, adoption signals, and implementation quality.
• Measure the commercial, user, or Product outcomes that your work enables, accelerates, or protects.
• Use portfolio data to identify repeated blockers, improve prioritization, and guide future investment.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. Preferred qualifications are useful but not required.

Minimum requirements

• 6+ years of experience in solutions engineering, partner engineering, software engineering, technical consulting, developer relations engineering, or another hands-on technical role supporting external users or partners.
• Experience designing and delivering production integrations using APIs, webhooks, authentication and authorization, event-driven systems, or developer platforms.
• Ability to read, write, and debug code in at least one general-purpose programming language such as JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Java, or Go.
• Experience diagnosing complex integration failures across partner systems, APIs, and product surfaces.
• Experience leading external partners from technical discovery through implementation, testing, and launch.
• Ability to translate ambiguous partner goals into a clear architecture, delivery plan, and set of technical decisions.
• Ability to identify patterns across multiple implementations and turn them into reusable guidance or Product requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Experience working across Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Sales, or other cross-functional teams without relying on direct authority.
• Sound judgment when balancing partner urgency, Product constraints, implementation quality, and long-term platform leverage.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with developer platforms, platform ecosystems, marketplaces, or partner-distributed products.
• Experience with application extensibility, embedded applications, workflow automation, OAuth, or delegated API access.
• Experience with payments, fintech, commerce, billing, monetization, or financial operations.
• Experience creating partner certification, integration-quality, or launch-readiness programs.
• Experience building prototypes, examples, or developer tooling that influenced a Product roadmap or accelerated partner adoption.
