JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Front Office Student Worker
The Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) is seeking a student worker to fill a part-time front desk position in the eight floor administrative suite in the Ford Building, to help support the management and promotion of RPTM operations. This is a paid position, and the student worker will be asked to work approximately 5-10 hours per week.
The student's primary responsibilities will include:
· Front desk reception (e.g., answering questions to guests, answering phone calls)
· Supporting office tasks such as printing, copying, scanning, binding, and mailing
· Other office tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate should have experience writing for different purposes and audiences (such as news, business, creative) and possess excellent writing and editing skills. Proficiency working in Microsoft Office 365 software applications is required.
The worker must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management skills, be organized, and self-directed. The worker must behave professionally in the workplace and have a positive attitude while interacting with students, staff, faculty, and other guests in the RPTM suite. The position is open to students majoring in RPTM or other units in the College of Health and Human Development.
