Job Description:
Packaging Operations
Pack finished products in accordance with the approved Manufacturing Order and packaging instructions.
Ensure that the correct product, packaging materials, bag size, and labels are used before commencing the packing process.
Verify that bag labels correspond with the Manufacturing Order and product specifications.
Weigh and fill bags accurately within the specified tolerances.
Stack finished products in accordance with standard palletizing requirements.
Secure and wrap pallets as required.
Perform any other reasonable duties related to the position, as assigned from time to time, in line with the overall objectives of the role.
Continuous improvement:
Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, in order to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems.
Safety & Compliance:
Works in compliance with all relevant (personal as well as food) safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards.
Perform visual inspections of packaging materials and finished products before and during packing.
Follow all site safety rules and emergency procedures.
Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
Report unsafe conditions, near misses, accidents, and incidents immediately.
Report any quality deviations, damaged packaging materials, contamination, foreign materials, or abnormal product conditions immediately to the supervisor.
Verify product codes, batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates for accuracy and prevention of product mix-up.
Good housekeeping:
Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site
Job requirements
Matric (min)
Min 2 years' experience in a similar role.
