JOB DESCRIPTION
- Support the Shift Engineer to operate the plant to achieve 100% availability with 24 hrs. continuous dispatch of treated water complying with the WPA and O&M procedure meeting dispatch quantity, quality and energy target.
- Perform O&M work in strict compliance with safety, environment pollution control and housekeeping.
- Perform quality monitoring and operational works in the control room, coordinating with Operation Technicians onsite to operate the plant.
- Report and record any operations abnormalities to the Supervisor and carry out rectification plan promptly to restore both dispatched water quality and quantity
- Coordinate with Maintenance Team on daily maintenance requirements and activities.
- Liaise with PUB WSCC to fulfill operational requirements.
- Prepare and maintain daily and monthly operations records.
- Monitor daily chemical consumption.
- Comply with environment, health and safety regulation for all works carry out in the plant
- Prepare operation report and assist operation managers in plant operation management such as chemicals stock monitoring etc.
- Accept ad hoc assignment given by managers
- Accept multi-tasking; willing to take on extra responsibilities to support O&M of the plant
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess ITE or Diploma in Science, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or other engineering-related field
- Min 2 years’ experience in desalination plant Control Room operation
- Positive attitude and a good team-player
- Willing to work on shift
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours due to operational needs of the Desalination Plant
- Ability to work as part of a specialist shift team and liaise with numerous personnel during critical plant outage periods.
- Willing to work at multiple sites
- Possession of Forklift License preferred
