Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This is a 9 months contract.
As a Platform Engineer, you will support, maintain and improve WNZL’s OpenShift Platform as a Service (OPaaS) capability, running on dedicated bare-metal infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
Working within the OPaaS squad, you will provide hands-on platform administration, operational support, automation and technical guidance for Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, platform services and supporting tooling.

Current or recent hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform v4.15 and later, platform administration experience is essential, not just application-user experience.
Strong Kubernetes knowledge, including pods, namespaces, operators, RBAC, ingress, routes, storage, scheduling and workload troubleshooting.
Experience operating OpenShift on bare-metal or equivalent enterprise infrastructure, including worker-node lifecycle, capacity, resilience and hardware dependency management.
Linux/RHEL administration skills, including shell scripting, systemd, SSH, Podman or equivalent container runtime knowledge.
Automation capability using Terraform, Python, GitOps practices and source-control workflows.
Experience with GitOps and deployment tooling such as Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize, Jenkins, Bitbucket or GitHub Enterprise.
Understanding of enterprise networking, DNS, load balancing and ingress patterns using tools such as F5 BIG-IP, Infoblox or equivalent.
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager.
Working knowledge of platform security, RBAC, secrets management, compliance scanning and vulnerability remediation using tools such as HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk.
Comfortable working in an Agile squad, using Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow and Teams to manage work, incidents, change and stakeholder engagement.
Desirable
Experience with Dell PowerEdge infrastructure, iDRAC, firmware planning and platform hardware expansion.
Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation, CSI drivers or enterprise storage integration.
Exposure to Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management, Advanced Cluster Security and Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console.
Exposure to Red Hat Developer Hub, DevSpaces, Red Hat Service Mesh or Backstage-style self-service platform patterns.
Red Hat Certified Specialist, Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent Kubernetes/OpenShift certification.
