8Fleet is hiring! We are a fast-growing technology and logistics company building the operational infrastructure for rideshare fleets, both driver-operated and autonomous. As we launch in Chicago, we are building our local team from the ground up, and our drivers are at the center of it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Onboarding Coordinator, based in Chicago, to own the driver onboarding experience from start to finish. You will run our onboarding center, get new drivers trained, credentialed and set up in our systems, and support them through their first weeks on the road. You'll also own the numbers and the process, so every new driver is ready from day one and the system keeps getting better as Chicago grows.

This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who is organized, process-driven and comfortable being the go-to person for new drivers and the market team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the Onboarding Center: Run daily onboarding operations and keep the experience smooth, professional and on time.

• Driver Readiness: Make sure every driver completes onboarding materials, understands company policies and is fully prepared before their first shift.

• System Setup and Compliance: Hire drivers into our internal systems, manage credentials, and keep all documentation complete and compliant.

• Test Drives: Schedule, coordinate and oversee test drives so every driver meets our safety and operating standards.

• Early Driver Performance: Monitor and support new drivers through their first several weeks, with feedback, coaching and escalation when needed.

• Reporting: Track onboarding funnel metrics, completion rates and driver readiness, and use the data to flag bottlenecks and recommend fixes.

• Process Improvement: Find what slows onboarding down and put better workflows in place as the market scales.

• Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Fleet Supervisors, Operations and Chicago market leadership on driver readiness and onboarding quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, HR, onboarding or another fast-paced, people-facing role.

• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage many drivers and schedules at once.

• Strong proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel (formulas, filtering, reporting), and comfort using data to make decisions.

• Clear, professional communication, with comfort training and coaching others.

• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, including some early mornings, evenings or weekends.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

NICE TO HAVE

• Rideshare platform experience (Uber, Lyft).

• Experience in training, onboarding, recruiting or people operations.

• Experience launching a new market, site or operation.

COMPENSATION

• $65,000 – $70,000 per year, plus equity
