Overview

Oliver Wyman Vector is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support the development of software for complex aerospace systems. This role will work closely with systems engineers, test engineers, and other software developers to design and implement software solutions from defined software-level requirements.

The Software Developer will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including software design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and verification within a DO-178C-driven development environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

·       5+ years of professional software development experience, with approximately 5–10 years preferred.

·       Strong software development experience using Java and/or Python.

·       Ability to develop software from defined software-level requirements through design and implementation.

·       Experience designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining software within complex systems.

·       Familiarity with RTCA DO-178C software certification and the software development processes and documentation driven by DO-178C.

·       Ability to collaborate with systems engineering and test teams throughout software development, integration, and verification.

·       Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to work effectively in an environment with evolving requirements and technical ambiguity.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to encourage open communication and continuous feedback.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

·       Experience developing software for aerospace, avionics, aircraft, or other safety-critical systems.

·       Experience with airplane software development and certification.

·       Familiarity with requirements-driven software development and traceability.

·       Experience working within a structured software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, and delivery.

·       Experience with software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting in a system or lab environment.

·       Familiarity with airplane network systems, communication systems, or networked embedded systems.

·       Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, including systems engineering, software development, integration, and test.

·       Familiarity with development and issue-tracking tools such as Git and Jira.

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

·       Full-time role supporting a combination of remote and in-office work (hybrid).

·       Located in the Greater Seattle, WA area.

·       Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a larger engineering team.

·       Customer focus and willingness to respond to changing technical and program priorities.

 

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $160,000.
