Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Nurse Leader (Employee Health)

MSK is a world-renowned comprehensive cancer center dedicated to exceptional patient care, groundbreaking research, and excellence in education. The Nurse Leader, Employee Health plays a critical leadership role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of MSK employees by overseeing clinical operations, regulatory compliance, quality initiatives, and a team of nurses.

Role Overview

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for the clinical, operational, and human resource functions of Employee Health across MSK, including regional sites.

• Lead and support a team of six Employee Health nurses, fostering engagement, accountability, professional development, and high-quality care delivery.

• Lead employee health programs related to occupational health, immunizations, infectious disease exposures, workplace injuries and illnesses, and return-to-work processes.

• Ensure safe, ethical, evidence-based, culturally competent, and employee-centered care consistent with MSK standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Provide direct clinical coverage in the Employee Health clinic multiple days per week, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that meets MSK standards, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Direct employee health assessments, screenings, surveillance, education, counseling, referrals, and follow-up care.

• Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert while maintaining current knowledge of professional practice standards, regulations, and evidence-based guidelines.

• Manage daily clinic operations, staffing, resource allocation, and service delivery across multiple sites.

• Partner with multidisciplinary stakeholders and regional site liaisons to support organizational goals, strengthen collaboration, and drive operational excellence.

• Use clinical, operational, quality, and financial data to guide decision-making, identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and implement performance improvement initiatives.

• Lead strategic initiatives, process improvements, technology integration, and organizational change efforts that enhance Employee Health services and employee experience.

• Support talent management through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, professional development, recognition, and retention of staff.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field required.

• Four to seven years of relevant nursing or healthcare leadership experience required.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure applicable to New York and New Jersey required.

• BCLS certification and certification in a related nursing or healthcare specialty required.

• Occupational Health experience and/or certification preferred.

• Demonstrates strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, develop, coach, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

• Possesses advanced knowledge of professional nursing practice, occupational health principles, clinical quality and safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, CDC, New York State, The Joint Commission, and NYC Department of Health requirements.

• Communicates effectively with employees, nursing staff, physicians, administrators, and other stakeholders and builds strong cross-functional partnerships.

• Demonstrates strong human resources, employee relations, financial and budget management, and operational leadership skills.

• Uses data, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement principles to identify gaps, develop action plans, and improve outcomes.

• Embraces innovation, change management, technology integration, and continuous improvement, using data and evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes and employee experience.
