What You Will Do:

We are looking for a Lead Graphic Designer / Visual Communications Lead who will serve as the creative lead responsible for translating complex information, organizational priorities, and mission objectives into compelling, professional, and accessible visual communications. This individual will work closely with government stakeholders, communications teams, and project leadership to establish creative direction, maintain brand consistency, and develop high-quality visual products that effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.

The Lead Graphic Designer will oversee the design and production of a broad range of communications materials, including executive presentations, infographics, reports, fact sheets, briefing materials, digital content, event materials, templates, graphics, and other branded communications products. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining visual identity standards, conceptualizing creative approaches, managing multiple design priorities, and ensuring products are accurate, audience appropriate, accessible, and aligned with client branding and communications objectives.

This role will also collaborate closely with communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and program management teams to transform technical or complex subject matter into clear and engaging visual narratives. The Lead Graphic Designer will provide creative consultation to government clients, recommend innovative approaches for communicating key messages, and support high-visibility communications campaigns and initiatives.

The position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced federal environment, manage competing priorities and short-turnaround requests, and take products from initial concept and storyboarding through design, client review, revision, and final production. The individual should be comfortable presenting creative concepts to senior stakeholders, incorporating feedback, and providing quality control and creative direction across communications products.

What You Will Need:

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• FIVE (5) or more years of professional graphic design, visual communications, creative services, or related experience.
• Experience serving in a lead graphic design or creative role, including responsibility for developing concepts, establishing creative direction, and managing products through final delivery.
• Strong proficiency with professional graphic design and presentation tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft 365, particularly PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent design requests, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and deliver high-quality products within established deadlines.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED DHS Public Trust.
• Experience providing graphic design or visual communications support within DHS, federal law enforcement, or another federal agency.
• Experience serving as the creative lead for large-scale communications, branding, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement campaigns.
• Experience developing and implementing brand standards, visual identity systems, templates, style guides, and communications toolkits.
• Experience creating visual products for public-facing communications, outreach initiatives, digital campaigns, events, conferences, or executive-level engagements.
• Experience working directly with senior government stakeholders to translate communications objectives into creative concepts and finished products.
• Experience designing data visualizations, infographics, process graphics, organizational graphics, and other products that simplify complex information.
• Experience supporting communications in a fast-paced, high-visibility law enforcement or national security environment.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and experience developing accessible communications products.
• Demonstrated experience developing professional communications products such as executive presentations, infographics, reports, fact sheets, digital graphics, templates, and other branded materials.
• Experience translating complex or technical information into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate visual communications.
