At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Metallurgist II, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future. 
 
The role: 
As a Metallurgist II, you will help drive our goals by: 

• Lead materials development and research projects from concept through delivery. 

• Provide physical metallurgy expertise to support R&D and manufacturing operations. 

• Plan, execute and analyze experiments and production trials. 

• Support capital projects through process development and equipment evaluations. 

• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges. 

• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role: 

• Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related discipline. 

• Strong knowledge of physical metallurgy and metal processing methods. 

• Industrial experience within metallurgy, materials development or manufacturing. 

• Experience leading technical projects and managing priorities. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently and build effective stakeholder relationships.
