What you’ll do
As a Merchandise Planner, you will develop and execute merchandise financial strategies that drive profitable sales growth, optimize inventory investments and support enterprise objectives. As a strategic business partner, you will leverage data analytics and market insights to influence sales, margin, inventory, assortment and promotional decisions while collaborating with Merchandising, Promotions, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, eCommerce and Store Operations to manage risk, meet customer demand and improve inventory productivity.
- Leverage data-driven analysis to support monthly, quarterly and annual in-season financial forecasting and pre-season financial planning, while continuously evaluating performance against plan and changing market conditions, adjusting forecasts and recommending actions as new insights emerge to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Consult with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to ensure a complete understanding of the overall strategy going forward to align with financial targets and enterprise objectives
- Build scenario-based forecasts and risk assessments to support decision-making.
- Lead weekly business reviews with cross-functional partners to drive forecast accuracy through assessment of sales performance, inventory health and promotional effectiveness.
- As a collaborative problem solver provide actionable recommendations to improve financial outcomes. Monitor key business drivers including traffic, conversion, inventory availability, pricing, promotions and external market conditions.
- Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) investments and support Strategic Business Unit (SBU) assortment planning through deep-dive analytics and governance over receipt spend, assortment decisions, store tiering, space productivity and brand performance. Optimize inventory deployment by monitoring stock levels, turns and aging inventory; approving purchase orders within budget. Drive actions to improve sell-through, reduce excess inventory and minimize markdown exposure.
- Support planning process improvements, adoption of evolving planning capabilities and systems while adapting to shifting business priorities.
- Influence decisions through data-driven storytelling and strategic recommendations.

What you bring
- A business degree at the graduate or undergraduate level
- 1-3 years of retail experience is an asset
- Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities; experience with co-pilot, planning tools and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong understanding of retail mathematics, inventory management, forecasting and financial planning principles.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with attention to detail
- Sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills with the ability to apply analytical thinking to business decisions.
- Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000 – $88,000.
Our typical hiring range is between $53,000 and $70,000. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
