Join the Workspace ONE Intelligence team and play a key role in shaping the future of digital workspaces. Our team is responsible for building, deploying, and managing the AWS-based Workspace ONE Intelligence cloud service. With a focus on transforming how customers engage with digital workspaces, we leverage analytics, machine learning, and AI to deliver innovative solutions that drive critical decision-making, enhance end user experience, ensure security, and automate IT processes and remediation. We are passionate about rapidly developing high-quality software and applying automation and software engineering best practices to everything we do. We work with the latest AWS technologies and open-source components.

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation capabilities within the Omnissa Horizon platform, including AI-powered user experiences, intelligent operations, and automation services. The role involves architecting scalable distributed systems, cloud-native services, and AI-enabled workflows that improve end-user productivity, platform observability, and operational efficiency. You will drive technical strategy, evaluate and integrate modern AI/ML technologies including LLM-based solutions, and collaborate across product, security, and platform teams to deliver innovative enterprise features. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software architecture, along with experience building or integrating AI-driven applications. Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential to influence product direction and deliver impactful solutions at scale.

Expertise in the areas of Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, REST APIs, LDAP, ADLDS, HTTP, SSL, Multi-Threading, Concurrency, Distributed System design, JMS etc is desired. Knowledge of C++ and windows internal is added advantage

Experience integrating Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or intelligent automation into enterprise products, familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI observability, understanding of AI security, governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices are desirable.

As a MTS Engineer-Java, Distributed System, Cloud, You will be responsible to :

• Drive the design and development of major architecture components. Participate in all phases of software development, including requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Support your peers with code reviews, design reviews, and technical insights.

• Drive improvements in DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD processes that enable the team to work more efficiently.

• Drive API excellence with well-thought-out opinions on API design (e.g., API versioning, REST vs GraphQL, performance, and usability).

• Support the team's on-call responsibilities and look for opportunities to make it more efficient.

• Train and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.

• Own engineering initiatives and champion a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong technical foundation in architecting and designing cloud services.

• Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework.

• Expertise in the areas of Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, REST APIs, LDAP, ADLDS, HTTP, SSL, Multi-Threading, Concurrency, Distributed System design, JMS etc is desired. Knowledge of C++ and windows internal is added advantage
• Complex Escalation Engineering: Owning the deep technical analysis, debugging, and end-to-end resolution of high-severity, customer-reported engineering issues.
• Architectural & Code Reviews: Reviewing enterprise-scale customer codebases, cloud configurations, and deployment pipelines to optimize system health and resource utilization.
• Product Engineering Feedback Loop: Collaborating directly with internal Microsoft product and core engineering teams to turn customer telemetry and feature gaps into product updates.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Documentation: Authoring rigorous, comprehensive post-incident reviews and technical whitepapers to prevent recurring issues across the ecosystem.
• Data-Driven MTTR Reduction: Consistently lowering Mean Time to Resolution metrics through tool optimization and automated root-cause analysis
• Hands-on experience with AI APIs, LLM frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools, familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, or AI application development concepts are desired

This role will be reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering. Our team’s focus is on challenging the status quo by innovating but at the same time getting stuff done. We believe in building trust amongst all our stakeholders and committing to make our customers successful.

The team is organized based on modules to define clear responsibility and accountability. At the same time teams are fluid enough to own up whatever is needed for the larger product to be successful.
