Position: Medical Biller - Junior

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Full-Time, Remote Work.

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Billing to join our team in a full-time remote position.

No prior medical billing experience is required. Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their skills in medical billing and healthcare administration.

The role is primarily data and email focused, with minimal phone contact. You will be responsible for entering information from facility systems into billing software, reconciling records, and assisting with denials and underpayments after Medicare payments are received.

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, focus, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

• Enter accurate patient/facility information from the facility system into the billing software.
• Ensure billing information is complete and accurately captured.
• Reconcile the facility software against the billing software at the end of each week.
• Identify discrepancies and investigate information that does not match.
• Communicate primarily via email regarding billing queries and follow-ups.
• Monitor Medicare payments and review claims once payment has been posted.
• Work on denials and underpayments after Medicare payment is received, generally around 14 days after payment.
• Follow up on outstanding billing issues and ensure they are appropriately resolved.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Work independently to complete assigned billing and reconciliation tasks.
• Follow established billing processes and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive healthcare information.

No prior experience is required.
