This position will support primary care departments at Sturgeon Bay, New Franken, and Denmark clinics. Occasional earlier or later shifts and occasional weekend coverage based on clinic needs.

Actual compensation offered in the Pay Range of $24.10- $36.15 for an MA Lead or $25.30 - $37.95 for an LPN Lead and will be based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience and/or training.
We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of experience in nursing or medical assisting that includes experiences in an outpatient physician practice or hospital environment preferred.
Licensure or Certifications
- LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
- MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Degrees:
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
- LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
- MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
What You’ll Do:

As a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse Lead, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.
As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:
- Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
- Oversees day to day operations and workflow to maximize staff efficiency and effectiveness.

Our team of primary care providers is conveniently available when and where you need them, with many providers offering same-day and next-day appointments. Your provider is your first point of contact for preventive care, acute, and chronic care. Your primary care physician manages all aspects of your general health care:
- Preventive care, including immunizations, flu shots, pap smears, cholesterol screening, diet, exercise programs, weight loss programs and more
- Diagnoses and treatment of a comprehensive array of multi-system diseases
- Referrals for advanced diagnostic tests
- Coordination with other specialized Aurora BayCare care providers
- Collaborative care for chronic health conditions

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
