Summary:

This person is responsible for ensuring all resources are informed of customer demand events that may affect our delivery performance.  This includes maintenance of the ERP system (Materials functions), demand variation communication and premium freight events. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains ERP system for all Material functional areas such as Item Master, BOM, ship to locations, and inventory parameters.
  • Creates daily production schedules and ensures production output is recorded and posted into the ERP system.
  • Communicates No Surprise Forms to customers when demand variations occur.
  • Communicates demand information plant-wide for volume awareness.
  • Reconciles Customer cum inaccuracies.
  • Tracks all inventory related inaccuracies with Material Analysts for root cause identification.  Responsible for ensuring the issue(s) are corrected.
  • The main point of contact for coordinating MRP daily runs and Supplier Schedule Output.
  • Tracks and submits Premium Freight events caused by customer.  Responsible for creating packages for recovery.
  • Responsible for Customer Delivery Ratings Performance.
  • Materials lead for performing BOM Teardowns.  And recording information found.
  • Responsible to communicate, track and implement engineering changes as proposed by program management.  This person is the lead point of contact for the Materials Department.
  • Macro level support to all key performance measures of materials department that include inventory valuation, inventory accuracy, premium freight and production downtime.
  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.
  • Responsible for BOS compliance to MMSA procedures as established by SCM. 

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor Level Degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.

Previous experience is desired, preferably in an automotive background. Must have a consistent employment record to include good attendance, and be capable of adapting to a participative work environment.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals.  Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:

Candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.  Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
