Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

What You Will Do:

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is seeking talented individuals for Material Specialist roles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safely perform the material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Utilizing order pickers, reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts. Keep in mind, not all available positions operate equipment.
• Operate handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting and order processing.
• Perform housekeeping functions as required and reports defects and need for repairs.
• Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

• Safety Mindset: Consistent and proper usage of required PPE and safety procedures for tasks being performed.

  • Time Management: Reliable, on-time attendance record; Ability to efficiently reach performance goals.
  • Adaptability: Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures; Ability to work overtime when required; Eagerness to learn processes and procedures in multiple areas and willingness to be trained on and operate equipment such as order pickers, reach trucks and sit-down forklifts.
  • Collaborative: Promote a culture of teamwork where we help each other to learn and meet shared goals.
• Thoroughness: The ability to properly perform quality checks; Focus on accuracy to provide our customers with the best possible experience; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; perform a variety of clerical functions as needed and understand basic math
• Experience: Demonstrated longevity of at least one year in previous employment
• Agility: Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, sit, stand, squat, and bend over repetitively and consistently, throughout your shift with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be comfortable working on equipment at heights up to 30 feet in the air.    

What You Will Get:

• Starting wage is $20.96/hour plus $1/hour shift differential for third shift.
• Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half (some may be mandatory).
• Double time on the second worked day outside of the employee’s regular workweek schedule.

• $.25/hour raises at a regular interval.

What to Expect After Applying:

• Candidates that meet the qualifications will receive a call from our talent acquisition team to talk through your qualifications and answer questions you may have.

• Candidates that have passed the phone screen will be sent an online assessment.

• Candidates who are successful with the phone screen and online assessment will be scheduled for an interview.

Shifts:

Actual shift availability varies week by week. Successful candidates will be started as soon as a position becomes available on their requested shift.  Please note that this could mean a sizable waiting period before starting.

• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm

All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to Caterpillar:

• Background Screening
• Drug Screening
• Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire - clearance from Corporate Medical
