Summary

This is a heat treatment process engineer position responsible for CAT Tianjin undercarriage facility heat treatment lines operation by providing on-site support with technical engineering team and operators on heat treatment process and metallurgical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Setup & maintain heat treatment process and solve the related HT issue.

• Support met lab technicians to conduct daily metallurgical inspection on microstructure, hardness, hardened depth, nondestructive testing.

• Lead failure analysis for field returned parts, coordinate SEM outsourcing.

• Ensure & support met lab technicians to follow standards and specs, to perform proper testing procedures, and provide on-site training and periodic class metallurgical training to the met technicians.

• Summarize and analysis testing data to optimize the HT process.

• Support NPI & OEM parts development on HT process and metallurgical validation.

• Support new HT equipment investment projects.

• Support met lab technical management with facility team leader.

• Support audit suppliers on HT process and quality improvement.

Must Skills

• Material Science or related major or heat treatment process working experience is preferred.

• Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

• Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

• Good communication and presentation skills in Mandarin and English.

Prefer skills

• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
