Marketing Coordinator

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Marketing Coordinator you will support the development and delivery of strategic performance and growth initiatives within the Industrial Specialties Division. This role follows clearly defined procedures and works under regular supervision while contributing to marketing projects.

Here you will make an impact by, but not limited to:

• Developing a basic understanding of product lines, customer segments and their needs, competitive products, prices, and policies.
• Taking advantage of initial and ongoing training opportunities and exposure to senior leadership.
• Working on projects that represent real challenges faced by 3M’s business units.
• Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and competitive analysis.
• Campaign Support: Support the planning, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns.
• Digital Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various digital marketing channels. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize marketing strategies. Collaborate with the marketing team to implement date-driven decisions.
• Analytics: Monitor and report on the performance of marketing activities using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing software.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, product development, and other departments to ensure cohesive marketing strategies.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support the marketing department, such as maintaining databases, preparing reports, and coordinating meetings.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  
  

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include

• Experience in B2B marketing, product marketing, or portfolio management, especially in industrial, packaging, manufacturing, or distribution-focused businesses.
• Strong understanding of packaging applications and customer needs, including packaging productivity, bonding, sealing, protection, automation, sustainability, and channel dynamics.
• Commercial business acumen, with the ability to connect portfolio decisions to revenue growth, margin improvement, share gain, and customer retention.
• Market research and competitive analysis skills to identify trends, customer pain points, unmet needs, and growth opportunities.
• Data-driven decision-making ability, including experience analyzing sales performance, pipeline data, market share, pricing, profitability, and customer segmentation.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, technical teams, global marketing, supply chain, channel partners, and business leadership.
• Project management capability, including managing timelines, priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex portfolio decisions and recommend practical business actions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, especially for influencing senior leaders, sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency with business tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, CRM platforms, Power BI/Tableau, market research tools, or other analytics/reporting systems.
