The Role
ATI is looking for a Managing Director to lead and grow our Medicaid Managed Care portfolio. This is an opportunity to shape one of the fastest growing and highest impact areas of healthcare today.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Medicaid managed care expert with deep state Medicaid policy expertise across all Medicaid populations, including LTSS, TANF, expansion adults, children and families, and individuals with disabilities. This leader guides clients through RFP readiness and response, growth, operational improvement, and state policy advocacy, drawing on real experience with state Medicaid agencies, managed care organizations, and the stakeholders around them.
What You’ll Do
The Managing Director leads executive engagements and drives the growth of ATI’s Medicaid Managed Care portfolio.
Lead the Portfolio and Team
- Oversee a diverse Medicaid managed care portfolio spanning subject matter expertise, client relationships, and team management.
- Lead teams of experts and analysts, fostering a positive culture and superior client service.
- Set a clear, strong vision for project execution and delivery.
Provide Deep Expertise
- Serve as expert advisor across the portfolio: RFP readiness and response, operational support, and state policy analysis and advocacy.
- Bring deep state Medicaid policy expertise across all populations, including LTSS, TANF, expansion adults, children and families, and individuals with disabilities.
Grow the Business and Client Relationships
- Lead business development and growth: identify new clients, shape opportunities, scope proposals, and negotiate new business.
- Translate client challenges into ATI solutions and expand existing portfolio relationships.
- Serve as a trusted, go-to resource, delivering actionable insights across each client’s Medicaid portfolio.
Build Market Awareness
- Produce thought leadership and content that strengthens ATI’s voice in the market.
- Represent ATI externally through conference panels, presentations, expert workgroups, and media.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, with strong preference for time in a Medicaid managed care organization, a state Medicaid agency, or an advisory role supporting Medicaid managed care clients.
- Deep subject matter expertise in Medicaid managed care, including state Medicaid policy, procurement and contracting, delivery system reform, quality and access priorities, and how policy interacts with product strategy across Medicaid populations such as LTSS, TANF, expansion adults, children and families, individuals with disabilities, and other eligibility groups.
- Strong consulting aptitude, including the ability to lead a dynamic portfolio of projects and clients, apply critical and strategic thinking across a broad range of Medicaid managed care topics, and ensure client service excellence.
- Experience supporting Medicaid managed care RFP readiness and response, including market assessment, positioning, strategy development, solutioning, proposal content, and implementation planning.
- Demonstrated ability to support Medicaid managed care operational priorities, including health plan operations, clinical models, provider networks, quality improvement, member experience, and performance improvement.
- Business development acumen, with the ability to retain existing portfolio clients and establish new clients and workstreams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate to different audiences, including strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level clients.
