The Product Support department located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois has a high–visibility leadership opportunity for a self-starting, team-oriented individual with a technical, leadership, and project management background to manage a Product Support, Logistics Program Management (LPM) and Technical Documentation & Training (TDT) team. The position has approximately 13 direct reports and primarily supports the Mission Survivability Systems (MSS) Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) Sustainment repairs portfolio.  It will report to the Manager of Rolling Meadows Logistics Program Management.

Rolling Meadows Product Support functional areas include Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS), Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Supportability Engineering, Product Safety/Human Factors, Technical Publications & Training (TD&T), Program Hardware Tracking (PHT), Engineering Labs Management (ELM), and Logistics Program Management (LPM).  The LPM is the Product Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader for the above-mentioned Functional areas and has overall responsibility to a program for all Product Support content (schedule, budget, quality) throughout the period of performance.  TDT supports system manual and training content generation.

This position is a flexible work position, locally-remote and must be able to be onsite as required to meet business needs at the Rolling Meadows, IL Northrop Grumman facility.  Occasional travel (~5%) for business meetings may be required throughout the year.

The functional manager candidate:

• Must be able to effectively lead and manage a diverse group of individuals, establish a strong relationship with the program management office, customers, peers, and other functional leaders
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective program oversight, functional management, and customer communication on multiple programs with multiple customers.  Responsibilities require the close coordination and integration of team activities across multiple programs and with other functional departments inside and outside of Product Support.   
• Duties include, but are not limited to, execution of company policies and directives, workload forecast planning, staffing/hiring, performance assessment, conflict resolution, compensation/promotion planning, employee career development, process improvement, leading engagement activities, and timecard monitoring/approval
• Functions as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.
• Will develop a familiarity with the product line and working knowledge of the programs direct staff are supporting 
• Will be able to identify Product Support elements and requirements during the acquisition process and will be responsible for supporting all proposal activities
• Work across departments to support IRCM Sustainment repair activities at Rolling Meadows, IL, including opportunities for driving improved contractual performance, specifically in the arena of repair turn-around times
• Emphasis in this position is placed on leadership with focus on strategic vision and growth of the organization to meet both current and future mission needs
• Excellent communication/presentation skills and an in-depth knowledge of project management

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience; OR a Masters Degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience
• 5 years of experience overseeing and leading high-performance teams, either in direct management or IPT lead capacity
• Demonstrated project management experience, including managing multiple priorities with cost, schedule, and quality responsibilities
• Demonstrated experience conducting briefings/presentations to internal leadership and external customer interfaces concerning functional or program execution.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of how Product Support fits into Systems Engineering lifecycle
• Experience with Defense Logistics Program Management or Product Support elements in Development, Production, Integration, and Sustainment
• Demonstrated experience with Rolling Meadows products, including IRCM and Common Infrared Countermeasures (CIRCM) Direct Management experience
• Experience with Earned Value Management
• Proposal/Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
• Experience interfacing with military customers
• Experience in the development of process improvement activities

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
