As a Subcontracts Manager 3, located in Magna or Promontory, UT, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. Remote work is not available.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership, mentorship and have full ownership of a team of subcontract administrators and managers
• Ensure team compliance with established policies and procedures around all stages of a subcontract for commercial and government programs and using different subcontracting types. 
• Manage a team responsible for development and oversight of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the subcontracting of specialized materials, equipment, or services. Ensure all aspects of the subcontract - cost, schedule, quality, and technical are supping program requirements and commitments are met.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and work strategic initiatives to build and maintain a successful supply base
• Own communication within GSC, Division, Program and business areas regarding subcontracts status and issues while  working closely with a cross functional team
• Prepare and present executive level presentations
• Negotiate subcontractor price, schedule, milestone payments, terms and conditions, to ensure NGC is making favorable business deals with leverage to overcome subcontractor performance issues
• Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk with supply base or internal processes
• Supports NGC proposals and influence quick-turn quotations from subcontractors
• Performs independent research and analysis of complex and strategically important risks related to suppliers.
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams on complex issues and risks to develop and present appropriate mitigation plans to Supplier Management Teams and Leadership.
• Coordinates with Contracts team on proposed new or revised contract terms or requirements; facilitates flow-down to Subcontracts Specialists by identifying and communicating any potential impacts or implications for consideration.

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience including people management experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience including people management experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledgeable in FAR, DFARS, and corporate flow downs, data rights negotiations, and commercial item determination
• Has the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the Subcontracts or Contracts organizations, supplier performance and / or Supplier Management Team Leadership
• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
• Experience working on high dollar firm fixed price and cost-plus development Subcontracts and teaming agreements
• Experience with CostPoint or related purchasing software and all standard business tools

Primary Level Salary Range: $151,500.00 - $227,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
