About the role:

LSEG Analytics has been trusted for over 30 years by portfolio managers, risk teams and quantitative analysts. These clients want to access analytics where they're already working. This happens in spreadsheets, notebooks, BI dashboards, automated workflows and increasingly in AI assistants and agents.

Every one of those interactions is evidence: what customers actually use, how often, through which surface, and whether it worked. Today that evidence is uneven, which means the teams who build, sell and support our analytics have an incomplete picture of how customers experience them. This role owns closing that gap.

You will lead telemetry strategy across our analytics platform, owning what gets captured at the point of use, what it means, how it is surfaced, and working with the central telemetry team to ensure that the reporting is meaningful and consistent with D&A standards. That spans instrumentation standards, product adoption analytics, the usage evidence that supports commercial decisions, and the reporting our product, commercial and client service teams rely on.

This is a horizontal role. Telemetry cuts across every analytics vertical and every delivery channel, which means broad exposure to the LSEG estate and to the teams behind it.

This is a hands-on role. You will run your own discovery, own your roadmap, work directly with engineering to deliver, and stay accountable for the success of what you ship.

 

Responsibilities:

• Own the strategy and roadmap for analytics product telemetry, from instrumentation at the gateway through to the reporting and visualization built on top of it
• Collaborate with product teams to define what gets captured and what it means: the event schema, the identity and entitlement dimensions, and the rules that make usage comparable and actionable across products surfaces
• Partner with the cloud data platform teams who own storage and pipeline, translating product requirements into what the platform needs to capture and retain
• Inform the consumption layer: dashboards, usage reporting and the visualizations that make customer behaviour legible to the teams who act on it
• Turn usage data into an account of the customer experience — where workflows succeed, where they stall, and which surfaces customers are actually choosing
• Run discovery with your internal consumers across product, commercial, client service and engineering, and treat them as customers of what you build
• Hold the line on data quality and consistency, and be the person who can say what a number means and where it came from
• Act as the subject matter expert on usage data for commercial, client service and internal stakeholders
• Track how consumption patterns are changing, particularly agentic and AI-assisted usage, and make sure measurement keeps pace with them

 

Background Experience/Skills:

• Product management experience, or an equivalent background owning a platform, data or API product for internal or external consumers
• Technical fluency: comfortable with APIs, event data and data structures, and able to hold a credible conversation with engineers. You don't need to write production code, but you should be able to read it and be competent with SQL
• A feel for how data gets presented: you can tell the difference between a dashboard people open once and one they use to make decisions
• Data-driven in practice, not just in principle: you define what success looks like before you build, instrument for it, and change course when the evidence says to
• Judgment about measurement itself: you know the difference between a metric that is easy to collect and one that is worth acting on
• Working familiarity with AI tooling and how agentic consumption differs from human consumption
• Experience in financial data and analytics
• Comfortable operating in a matrixed organization
• Degree or equivalent in: Bachelors Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering/Operations Research

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $126,900 - $211,500.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
