Position: Manager, Instructor Development & Delivery (Critical Infrastructure)
Reports to: Director, Critical Infrastructure Instructor Development
Location: National, with frequent travel to on-premises training locations
SUMMARY
The Manager, Instructor Development & Delivery (CI) serves as a key member of the Instructor Development & Quality Assurance (IDQA) team, responsible for supporting instructor readiness, instructional quality, and delivery excellence across Per Scholas' Critical Infrastructure pathways, including Low Voltage, Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Critical Manufacturing, and related infrastructure-focused programs.
This role bridges instructor development and program delivery by providing coaching, mentorship, technical training support, and classroom coverage as needed. Working closely with instructors, campus teams, and subject matter experts, the Manager helps ensure instructional staff are prepared to deliver high-quality, industry-aligned training that leads to strong learner outcomes.
This position requires frequent travel to training sites nationwide to support instructor development, program launches, instructional quality initiatives, and classroom delivery as needed. The Manager provides hands-on support, conducts instructor observations, facilitates development activities, and supports the successful launch and delivery of new and existing Critical Infrastructure programs. The role also serves as a backup instructor when operational needs require coverage, ensuring continuity of instruction and learner success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructor Development & Readiness
- Support the onboarding, development, and ongoing readiness of instructional staff across Critical Infrastructure pathways.
- Deliver instructor training sessions focused on technical competency, instructional delivery, classroom management, and learner engagement.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to support instructor growth and effectiveness.
- Conduct instructor observations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist in the implementation of instructor development plans and readiness milestones.
- Support the adoption of instructional best practices, standardized delivery approaches, and quality assurance processes.
- Manage the execution of instructor readiness and development initiatives across Critical Infrastructure pathways.
- Monitor instructor development progress, readiness milestones, and training completion to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Identify systemic instructor capability gaps and partner with leadership to implement targeted development solutions.
- Coordinate and support instructor readiness activities associated with new program launches, pathway expansions, and strategic initiatives.
- Support instructor readiness and launch readiness activities associated with new program implementations, pathway expansions, and pilot initiatives.
Program Delivery & Field Support
- Travel to training sites nationwide to support instructor development, instructional delivery, program launches, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Serve as a backup instructor for infrastructure-focused programs when coverage is required.
- Support classroom delivery, hands-on labs, workplace simulations, and technical learning activities.
- Collaborate with campus leadership and instructional teams to identify and address delivery challenges.
- Assist in validating instructor readiness for new curriculum launches and pathway expansions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on learner success, graduation outcomes, certification attainment, and workplace readiness.
- Monitor and analyze instructor performance indicators, learner outcomes, certification attainment, and quality metrics to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Development, Solutions Delivery, IDQA, and campus leadership teams to align instructional practices with program objectives.
- Support the rollout of new curriculum, instructional tools, and training initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of instructor training resources, facilitator guides, and delivery standards.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and workforce needs within the Critical Infrastructure sector.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience delivering or supporting training within Critical Infrastructure disciplines such as Low Voltage, Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Industrial Maintenance, Building Systems, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Mechatronics, Automation & Controls, PLCs, Industrial Technology, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience as an instructor, trainer, coach, supervisor, or workforce development professional.
- Experience mentoring or developing instructional staff and facilitating professional learning.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
- Ability to support both technical and instructional skill development.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to support instructors, campuses, program launches, and organizational priorities.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, training initiatives, or workforce development programs across multiple locations preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry certifications relevant to Critical Infrastructure, Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Facilities Maintenance, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Mechatronics, OSHA, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting workforce development, technical education, apprenticeship, or adult learning programs.
- Familiarity with competency-based training and instructor coaching models.
- Experience using learning management systems and digital training platforms.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and other instructional technologies.
Compensation
For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate resides and alignment with qualifications and experience.
