The Manager, Fraud & Scams Advisory is responsible for leading advisory engagements that help organisations identify, assess, manage and mitigate fraud and scam risks. The role supports clients across strategy, governance, operating model design, risk assessments, regulatory compliance, controls uplift, technology enablement and remediation programs.
Working closely with executive stakeholders, the Manager will provide practical and commercially focused advice to strengthen fraud and scam prevention capabilities while meeting evolving regulatory obligations, including requirements arising from the Scams Prevention Framework, AML/CTF obligations and broader operational risk management expectations.

What you’ll do:
Lead fraud and scam risk advisory engagements from planning through to delivery.
Conduct fraud and scam risk assessments, control reviews, and maturity assessments.
Design target state fraud and scam prevention frameworks, governance models, and operating models.
Support clients to implement fraud and scam prevention controls across customers, channels, and transaction environments.
Lead independent reviews of fraud and scam management programs and remediation activities.
Advise clients on regulatory obligations, industry best practices, and emerging fraud and scam threats.
Develop executive and Board-level reporting, papers, and recommendations.
Undertake root cause analysis of fraud and scam events and identify opportunities for sustainable control enhancement.
Support organizations in responding to regulatory reforms and translating regulatory requirements into practical business actions.
Assess effectiveness of fraud and scam prevention controls across areas such as customer onboarding, identity verification, transaction monitoring, payment controls, customer protection processes, dispute and reimbursement management, and detection functions.
Facilitate workshops with business, risk, technology, and operations teams to improve prevention, detection, response, and recovery capabilities.
Support clients in leveraging analytics, AI, and technology-enabled solutions to enhance fraud and scam detection and prevention.
Manage and coach associates and senior associates and lead workstreams and project teams across multiple client engagements.
Review work products to ensure quality, technical accuracy, and commercial value.
Support recruitment, development, and performance coaching of team members.
Support business development activities including proposals, RFP responses, client presentations, and building trusted client relationships.
What we’re looking for:
Core skills
5-8+ years’ experience in fraud, scam prevention, risk advisory, consulting, banking or regulatory environments.
Strong understanding of fraud risk management frameworks and controls.
Experience leading fraud and scam related projects or programs.
Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
Desirable skills
Experience with banking or financial services, payments and transaction fraud, scam prevention frameworks, operational risk management, fraud analytics and monitoring.
Professional certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS / CAFS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist / Certified Anti-Fraud Specialist), CPA or CA
