We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production happening in-house across our global offices and manufacturing facilities. Our teams come from industries around the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence. By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.

Position Overview

  • Leads shift maintenance execution for Powertrain manufacturing, ensuring safe equipment recovery, disciplined preventive maintenance, rapid escalation, technical coaching and reliable handover across highly automated Drive Unit and Battery operations.
  • Mission: Deliver safe, capable and sustainable Powertrain operations while building Saudi technical leadership capability and protecting launch, ramp-up and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role is for a hands-on maintenance team leader who provides front-line leadership to maintenance technicians, coordinates planned and reactive work, controls risk, restores equipment safely and develops a multi-skilled team capable of sustaining world-class Powertrain operations.

Safety leadership and compliance

  • Lead every maintenance intervention in accordance with LOTO, electrical and high-voltage controls, machine guarding, interlock, permit-to-work and approved work-instruction requirements.
  • Stop unsafe work, prevent unauthorized bypasses, verify zero-energy state where required and ensure equipment is returned to service only after defined safety and functional checks are complete.
  • Conduct shift safety briefings, verify technician authorization and certification, close near-miss actions and maintain strong contractor and vendor control within the work area.

Shift maintenance leadership and work control

  • Translate the production plan, equipment condition and CMMS backlog into a prioritized shift maintenance plan with clear ownership, timing, parts, tools, permits and escalation routes.
  • Allocate work according to competency and certification, balance resources across critical stations and coordinate technician, engineering, controls, facilities, OEM and production support.
  • Lead structured shift start, tier response and end-of-shift handover; communicate equipment status, open risks, containment, temporary conditions, parts constraints and next actions accurately.
  • Maintain disciplined work-order control, labor booking, failure coding, technical notes and evidence so that CMMS records are complete, auditable and useful for reliability analysis.

Preventive, predictive and planned maintenance

  • Own daily and weekly PM schedule attainment within the assigned area; review job-plan quality, verify task completion and challenge overdue, deferred or repeat maintenance.
  • Ensure measurements, lubrication, calibration, inspection findings and condition-monitoring results are recorded correctly and converted into follow-up work before deterioration becomes failure.
  • Coordinate planned interventions, shutdown activities, spare-parts readiness and post-maintenance validation while minimizing production disruption and protecting product conformity.

Breakdown response and safe recovery

  • Assume front-line command during breakdowns: establish safe condition, define immediate containment, organize fault-finding, control communication and drive safe restoration against agreed priorities.
  • Guide systematic diagnostics using schematics, alarms, PLC and I/O status, mechanical and electrical checks, machine history and known-failure modes; escalate beyond team authorization without bypassing safeguards.
  • Validate repair quality, complete functional checks with production and quality as applicable, confirm stable cycle performance and ensure all temporary measures have named owners and removal dates.

Reliability, problem solving and continuous improvement

  • Lead or support QRQC, 5-Why, fishbone and structured root-cause analysis for significant and repeat failures; preserve evidence and convert findings into verified corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track chronic losses, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, repeat failure, PM compliance and backlog health; use trends to prioritize countermeasures and improve maintainability, availability and lifecycle cost.
  • Drive 6S, Kaizen, defect tagging, basic condition restoration and standard improvement, including feedback to OEMs and engineering on access, diagnostics, guarding, spares and job-plan quality.

Autonomous Maintenance and production partnership

  • Coach production teams on cleaning, inspection and lubrication, abnormality detection, centerline control and approved minor adjustments while maintaining clear boundaries between operator and maintenance work.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering and EHS to protect takt, cycle, equipment capability, traceability and product quality during intervention, restart and launch containment.

People leadership and capability development

  • Lead, coach and develop maintenance technicians through daily direction, OJT, task observation, feedback, cross-training and structured progression against the technical skills matrix.
  • Build Saudi national maintenance capability through deliberate knowledge transfer, qualification plans, paired working and evidence-based sign-off while integrating expatriate experts, contractors and vendors into one operating standard.
  • Set clear expectations for attendance, discipline, teamwork, documentation and escalation; recognize strong contribution and address gaps consistently through the appropriate people processes.

Launch, installation and commissioning support

  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, run-at-rate, punch-list closure, training, documentation handover and spare-parts readiness for greenfield Powertrain launch and ramp-up.
  • Verify maintenance deliverables including manuals, drawings, backups, PM plans, bill of materials, special tools, critical spares, safety validation and technical training before operational acceptance.

Enterprise, launch and workforce expectations

  • Safety: demonstrate visible leadership, disciplined risk control and zero tolerance for unauthorized bypass or uncontrolled temporary repair.
  • Quality: protect product conformity, traceability, calibrated-tool discipline and objective evidence during maintenance and restart.
  • Delivery: sustain stable flow, equipment availability and structured escalation of constraints affecting launch, takt or cycle.
  • Cost: reduce downtime, repeat failures, scrap, rework, energy, parts and consumable losses using data-based countermeasures.
  • People: build an accountable, inclusive and technically capable team through coaching, knowledge transfer and qualification.
  • Continuous improvement: lead tier actions, 6S, Kaizen, QRQC, RCA and closed-loop corrective action within the assigned area.

Skills

  • Front-line leadership of multi-craft maintenance teams in a high-automation manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting with practical understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, drives, robotics and PLC/I/O diagnostics
  • Maintenance planning, prioritization, shutdown coordination, work-order control and CMMS discipline
  • Breakdown command, safe machine recovery, technical escalation and cross-functional communication
  • Preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance; reliability loss analysis and repeat-failure elimination
  • Structured problem solving using QRQC, 5-Why, fishbone, RCA, Kaizen and standard-work improvement
  • TPM and Autonomous Maintenance coaching, technical skills-matrix management and OJT delivery
  • Clear shift leadership, decision-making under pressure, accountability, conflict resolution and multicultural team development
  • Data literacy with practical use of downtime, PM, backlog, MTBF, MTTR, quality and cost indicators

Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or associate qualification in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, industrial maintenance or a closely related discipline
  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including demonstrated responsibility for coordinating technicians, shift work or maintenance response in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing equipment and safe troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of CMMS, preventive maintenance, breakdown response, spare-parts control and structured problem solving
  • Ability to complete site-required electrical, high-voltage, machine, station, LOTO and permit-to-work qualifications
  • Fluent Arabic and working-level English, with ability to communicate technical status, risk and escalation clearly across a multicultural workforce
  • Willingness and ability to support shift work, launch activities, planned shutdowns and urgent recovery when operationally required

Preferred Experience / Credentials

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or applied technology, or an advanced technical leadership qualification
  • Previous maintenance team-lead, supervisor, senior technician or shift-lead experience in automotive, EV, battery, electric motor, machining, precision assembly or similarly automated manufacturing
  • Greenfield or brownfield installation, commissioning, launch, ramp-up, run-at-rate and equipment acceptance experience
  • Practical exposure to robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, torque systems, vision, conveyors, test systems, laser processes, fluid systems or automated material handling
  • TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Lean manufacturing, reliability, RCA or condition-monitoring certification/training
  • Experience developing Saudi technical talent and transferring knowledge from OEMs, expatriate experts, contractors or international manufacturing sites
