Maintenance Manager

Job Description Summary

Role Purpose

Responsible for leading the Maintenance and Tool & Die functions to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. Provides strategic and day-to-day leadership to maintenance personnel, drives equipment reliability and continuous improvement, and partners with Production and Plant Leadership to support business objectives.

Scope

Responsible for the overall performance of Maintenance and Tool & Die, including people, processes, equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, repairs, tooling, and maintenance resources. Ensures maintenance activities support safety, quality, production, cost, and operational goals.

Job Description:

• Lead and develop the Maintenance and Tool & Die teams, including staffing, training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Establish and maintain effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Prioritize and coordinate equipment repairs, maintenance activities, shutdowns, and outside repair services with Production and other departments.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment, tooling, facility systems, utilities, cranes, material handling equipment, and related assets.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for recurring equipment and reliability issues.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts, vendors, contractors, and outside services.
• Monitor key maintenance metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure maintenance and Tool & Die activities comply with safety, quality, environmental, and company requirements.
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, standards, and equipment documentation.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, HR, and Plant Leadership on operational and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate equipment status, maintenance priorities, risks, and resource needs to Plant Leadership.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• 5+ years of progressive maintenance or manufacturing experience, with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Automotive or experience in a Tier 1 supplier preferred.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
• Some knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial equipment maintenance required.
• Experience with preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Tool & Die experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience required; powder metallurgy experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management/CMMS systems.
