Our teams stand beside volunteer and career fire fighters, SES volunteers, Police and other emergency workers, as well as people affected by bushfires, floods and storms.

This service operates every day of the year, and every response depends on equipment that is safe, reliable and ready to go. The Maintenance and Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring our vehicles, trailers, plant and equipment are prepared for deployment, enabling teams to respond swiftly and confidently when communities need support the most.

It is purposeful, hands-on work that strengthens frontline emergency response and makes a meaningful difference in moments that truly matter.

About the role

This position is responsible for the coordination and readiness of all SAES operational assets across Western Australia. The role establishes and maintains an accurate asset register, oversees scheduled servicing, manages repairs and replacements and ensures compliance with WHS requirements and TSA policies.

Strong collaboration with contractors, suppliers and TSA Property is essential to arrange testing and tagging, dispose of failed equipment and maintain safe operating procedures. The role also provides training in the safe use of plant and equipment, manages warehouse inventory and leads casual personnel and volunteers to complete depot tasks.

During emergency events or disasters, deployment may be required to support SAES response operations including meal service delivery, food preparation, distribution, site set up and pack down. This role also includes participation in an on‑call phone roster to support operational readiness.  This is a dynamic operational role where every action contributes to readiness, safety and effective response. This permanent full-time position is based at Malaga, WA within the SAES team, reporting to the SAES Response Coordinator WA. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 4.

How you will make an impact

• Maintaining a complete and accurate asset register
• Ensuring all plant, vehicles and equipment are serviced on time
• Coordinating contractors and suppliers for maintenance, repairs and replacements
• Keeping Noggin data current and compliant
• Conducting annual reviews of Safe Operating Procedures
• Supporting WHS obligations and eliminating hazards
• Providing training in equipment use and maintaining training manuals
• Managing warehouse stock inventory and depot operations
• Leading casual personnel and coordinating volunteers
• Supporting SAES deployments during emergency events
• Compiling fault reports after each incident and forwarding to the State Coordinator

What you will bring

• Experience operating mobile plant equipment
• Confidence working in fast paced operational environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Professional presentation and reliability
• Commitment to safety, integrity and inclusive practice
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Current driver’s licence (WA)
• Heavy vehicle licence (MR or above)
• Forklift licence
