JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Logistics Operations Manager, the Logistics Associate owns day-to-day logistics exception management while building the automation, SOPs, and process improvements that reduce future manual work and increase team capacity. This position is responsible for resolving and escalating shipping exceptions, discrepancies, and questions in a timely and professional manner; supporting Velocity buyers with shipping-related questions and issues to reduce order aging and maximize the client experience; and identifying and eliminating the recurring issues that drive exception volume in the first place.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the primary liaison between logistics partners and internal frontline teams regarding shipping questions, discrepancies, and exceptions.
• Manage day-to-day logistics exceptions, including identifying issues, researching root causes, coordinating resolutions, and escalating when appropriate.
• Identify recurring exception types and determine whether a system change, process improvement, or SOP update is needed — not just resolve individual tickets.
• Build, test, and maintain automation using Claude, Salesforce, and 3GTMS (Descartes) to reduce manual transactional work, improve ticket routing accuracy, and ensure missing data is identified and resolved faster.
• Support Velocity buyers with shipping-related questions and issues to reduce order aging, resolve shipping concerns, and improve the client experience.
• Meet established response and resolution SLAs for all assigned exceptions and inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and timely 3GTMS notes and updates to support payments, cancellations, aging, carrier communication, and operational visibility.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with carriers and internal teams to resolve operational issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain accurate carrier contact information and distribution lists to support effective communication across B-Stock teams.
• Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs and documentation related to assigned responsibilities and recurring operational issues.
• Work cross-functionally with Logistics, Client Operations, Sales, Technology, Finance, and other B-Stock teams to support operational and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support shipping disputes and Costco claims by acting as the liaison between dispute/mediation teams and carriers; collect and validate required documentation, follow up on missing information, and confirm accuracy before submission.
• Cross-train on other Logistics Associate responsibilities to provide team coverage during PTO, volume spikes, or periods of increased demand.
• Perform special projects, reporting, and analysis to support Logistics strategy, operational performance, and process improvement.
  
  
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• 1+ year experience in logistics, transportation, transportation brokerage, or a related operational environment
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to ask probing questions, identify root causes, and drive issues toward resolution
• Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and accurately
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel experience preferred
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines and SLAs
  
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Previous experience in logistics operations, carrier management, or exception/escalation management in a shipping or transportation environment
• Experience using 3GTMS (Descartes) or a comparable Transportation Management System
• Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM for case or ticket management
• Demonstrated experience identifying recurring operational issues and building SOPs, automations, or process improvements to reduce their recurrence — not just resolving individual tickets
• Familiarity with AI-assisted workflow tools or automation platforms (experience with Claude or similar tools is a plus)
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  
  
  

The pay rate for this role will range between $24.05 to $28.85, per hour. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as the applicant’s work experience, education and training, skills, market data, and internal equity.
