Job Description:

Title: Life Enrichment Leader

Memory Care - Full-time & every other weekend, Monday off after working weekend

PURPOSE
According to prescribed policies and procedures including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and under the supervision of the Administrator/Life Enrichment Director, assumes responsibilities for managing, planning and executing all resident life enrichment activities in the facility.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Scheduling and developing life enrichment activities to suit the needs of the residents.
• Responsible for assessing residents for appropriate life enrichment activities for group, independent and one-to-one.

• Making timely submissions of assessments and other required paperwork for MDS.
• Leads activities on scheduled work days.
• Creates and maintains monthly, daily activities calendar. Contribute to and/or write the facility newsletter and other communications.

• May oversees payroll submission, HR, A/P, A/R, and billing procedures. May be responsible for managing the budget of the dept.

• May ensure appropriate staffing levels by assisting with managing the Life Enrichment Assistants and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Attends facility meetings, QI, educational in-services as required.

• Participates in on-call, weekend manager programs as required.

• Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.

• With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.

• Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET—Life Enrichment Leader

Education: Completed high school education or equivalent. Certified in activities programming as specified in regulations

Experience: Three -Five years of working with the elderly required. Minimum one year management experience. Experience with Alzheimer’s and dementia preferred.

Mental: Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

Skills: Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web.

Licensure: Activities Certification as required by state compliance.

Working Conditions: Due to working in facilities, exposure to some disagreeable conditions such as noise, odors, illness, infection and physical contact with disruptive residents.
