Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to support the AISR&T program in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

In this role, you will be responsible for configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audits across hardware, software, documentation, and lab/system baselines, ensuring that program products are traceable, controlled, and delivered in accordance with customer and internal requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain configuration management (CM) baselines for AISR&T systems, subsystems, software, and documentation.
• Implement and administer CM processes, tools, and repositories to control changes to technical baselines (e.g., hardware, software, interfaces, test configurations).
• Coordinate and document Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Change Notices (ECNs), and related approvals; support Change Control Boards (CCBs).
• Maintain configuration records and status accounting (e.g., part numbers, versions, build identifiers, lab rig configurations, and fielded configurations).
• Support preparation and execution of configuration audits (functional and physical) and respond to findings or discrepancies.
• Interface with engineering, integration/test, logistics, and program management to ensure accurate and timely CM data and documentation.
• Support build and release processes, including generation and review of release notes, build documentation, and configuration manifests.
• Generate and maintain CM metrics, reports, and dashboards to track configuration health, change activity, and compliance.
• Ensure CM practices comply with program, sector, and customer requirements and applicable standards.

This role may be filled at either the Level 2 or Level 3 Analyst role based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

As a Level 2 Analyst:

• Must have a Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree and at least some of relevant military / professional / academic experience

As a Level 3 Analyst:

• Must have a Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience

And as an Analyst at Either Level:

• Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in configuration management, data management, or a closely related role supporting technical programs.
• Experience managing configurations for integration labs, test rigs, or deployed systems.
• Familiarity with CM tools and repositories (e.g., PLM/PPM tools, version control systems, or document control systems).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work with cross functional teams in a fast paced environment.
• Hands on use of CM and issue tracking tools (e.g., Teamcenter, JIRA, Git or similar).
• Experience using scripting or automation (e.g., Excel macros, Python, PowerShell) to streamline CM tasks and reporting.
• Working knowledge of common operating systems (e.g., Windows and Linux) in the context of builds, loads, and configuration tracking.
• Familiarity with CM standards and best practices in aerospace/defense environments.
• Experience supporting airborne ISR, mission systems, or other complex technical programs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
