Your next career opportunity
You will lead engaging, inclusive teaching in Buddhist Studies and Philosophy across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also build your research profile and partnerships, contributing to SHAPS’ vibrant intellectual and community life.
What you will deliver:
- Design, coordinate and deliver high-quality subjects for the Buddhist Studies minor and related Philosophy offerings.
- Innovate curricula, including technology-enhanced learning and cross-disciplinary, student mobility or overseas teaching experiences.
- Produce high-quality research outputs and actively contribute to seminars, conferences and broader disciplinary networks.
- Foster inclusive, respectful classrooms that support diverse learners and embed Buddhist philosophical perspectives.
- Contribute to School and Faculty service through committees, compliance, and ongoing professional development.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a completed PhD in Philosophy, History, Religious Studies or a cognate discipline focused on Buddhist Studies.
- Demonstrate a developing track record of high-quality research publications or equivalent scholarly outputs.
- Deliver excellent, inclusive teaching and lead subject or course development within Buddhist Studies and Philosophy.
- Coordinate subjects or programmes, including supervising tutors and supporting honours or postgraduate coursework students.
- Use educational technologies confidently to design engaging learning, assessment and online or blended experiences.
- Build respectful collegial relationships and external networks, including community or industry engagement where possible.
