Job Summary:

Panelmatic Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Industrial Electrician to provide hands-on leadership and technical direction within our electrical integration team. The Lead Industrial Electrician will lead and support a team responsible for the electrical installation, wiring, and integration of equipment within custom metal buildings and enclosures.

This position will ensure electrical installations are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, Panelmatic standards, and applicable NEC codes. The Lead Industrial Electrician will coordinate daily work activities, provide technical guidance to team members, inspect completed work, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure projects remain on schedule.

The Lead Industrial Electrician will remain hands-on in the installation and integration process while serving as a technical resource and leader for the team.

Job Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and technical support to Electrical Integration Technicians.
  • Help coordinate daily assignments and prioritize work based on project schedules and production requirements.
  • Lead by example and maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on electrical installation practices, tools, equipment, and Panelmatic standards.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Monitor team progress and communicate project status, delays, material shortages, or technical concerns to the appropriate Supervisor or Production Manager.
  • Help identify and resolve production issues that could impact project schedules or quality.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other departments to resolve installation and technical issues.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with complex electrical installations and difficult integration tasks.
  • Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, one-line diagrams, and engineering drawings to safely construct and integrate electrical systems.
  • Interpret customer specifications and engineering requirements to determine proper installation methods.
  • Perform and oversee conduit bending, threading, and installation, including EMT, RGS, and RAL.
  • Design and install conduit systems within space restrictions in accordance with one-line diagrams, NEC requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Install electrical panels, breakers, fuses, disconnects, and related electrical equipment.
  • Install and terminate electrical wiring, outlets, switches, junction boxes, terminal boards, and wall boxes.
  • Install electrical systems including security systems, fire detection systems, UPS systems, and other building or equipment systems.
  • Install fiber optic cable, communication lines, power systems, and other electrical infrastructure as required.
  • Install electrical components in buildings, machinery, computers, equipment, and custom enclosures.
  • Install heating and cooling electrical systems in industrial buildings and enclosures.
  • Install cable tray and open wiring systems.
  • Install utility fixtures, outlets, terminal boards, switches, and wall boxes using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, fuse holders, panels, and other electrical components.
  • Measure, cut, and install frameworks and supports for conduit, control panels, junction boxes, and other electrical devices.
  • Connect electrical systems to power sources in accordance with applicable electrical requirements.
  • Use mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic conduit benders to complete installations.
  • Ensure electrical systems are properly grounded and installed according to applicable NEC requirements.
  • Use test meters, meggers, and other diagnostic equipment to test and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Consult with engineers, engineering technicians, line installers, industrial machinery mechanics, and other technical personnel when required.
  • Identify installation discrepancies and communicate required corrections to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inspect completed electrical work to ensure installations meet drawings, specifications, Panelmatic standards, and applicable codes.
  • Verify wiring, conduit, equipment, and components are installed correctly before requesting inspection.
  • Notify the appropriate Lead, Supervisor, or Inspector when work is ready for inspection, as applicable.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and correcting inspection findings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the workday.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and work areas are properly maintained and returned to their designated locations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required PPE requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability among team members.
  • Assist leadership in monitoring project progress and identifying potential schedule concerns.
  • Help ensure materials and components are available when needed to maintain production flow.
  • Review work completed by team members and provide guidance when corrections are needed.
  • Assist with final electrical assembly, testing, and preparation for customer inspection or shipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project completion and overall production goals.

Requirements

  • Industrial Electrical Certification preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in industrial electrical installation, electrical integration, industrial construction, or a related field.
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience in RIE and PEC Building preferred
  • Experience in Electrical Racks preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and comprehension of NEC and UL codes preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of conduit bending preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three plus years of experience in industrial electrical in a manufacturing environment required
  • Three plus years of experience in the use basic tools (squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle grinder, conduit bender, etc.) required
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and comprehension of general electrical standard required
  • Three plus years of experience in applicable QAPs (Quality Assurance Procedures) required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and utilize conversion charts required
  • Ability to read a tape measure and prints required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to stoop and bend required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
  • Excellent color vision and eyesight required
