Workplace Platform team

The Workplace Platform Team act as a key technology partner for Microsoft 365 collaboration capabilities, productivity platforms, governance, adoption and secure digital solutions across the organisation:

• Lead and support Microsoft 365 collaboration, productivity, automation and employee experience use cases.
• Partner with IT product owners and platform teams to ensure standards are followed across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot, security, compliance and collaboration platforms.
• Support innovation, adoption and governance across Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Copilot capabilities.
• Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT architecture, security, service operations, vendors and Microsoft 365 delivery teams.

The Role

As the Communications & Messaging Engineer, you will deliver roadmap and lifecycle management for Dyson’s real-time collaboration and communications ecosystem, with a core focus on Microsoft Teams collaboration, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Exchange Online and wider unified communications integration.

Solutions Architecture & Design

• Translate business requirements into practical, deliverable technical designs.
• Create high- and low-level designs aligned to enterprise architecture standards set by the Principal UC Architect.

Convert business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions across:

• Microsoft Teams (calling, meetings, collaboration, governance)
• Exchange & Messaging
• Enterprise Telephony & SBC architecture
• Audio Visual systems, meeting rooms, Teams Rooms
• Enterprise Hybrid Events and broadcast capabilities
• Workplace optimisation tools and sensors
• Maintain design artefacts, configuration standards, and reusable solution blueprints
• Produce high-quality technical documentation ensuring consistent attention to detail.

Technical Delivery

• Lead technical delivery for UC programmes, projects, upgrades, releases, and optimisation initiatives.
• Coordinate delivery across engineering, operations, cyber security, networks, facilities, Estates IT, vendors, and service providers.
• Lead technical project teams through complex delivery, maintaining quality and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Provide clear technical updates, communications, and risk or issue reporting to senior stakeholders and project managers.
• Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships through proactive, clear communication.
• Manage delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, constraints, technical issues, and key decisions throughout the lifecycle.
• Oversee testing, validation, pilots, UAT, and transition into production support.
• Ensure technical changes comply with architecture governance, change control, and security approval processes.
• Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methods as appropriate.

About you

Strong technical background across Microsoft 365 technologies that underpin Unified Comms & Messaging

• Core: Active Directory, Entra, Intune, Teams, Teams Rooms Pro, Teams Phone System, Outlook, Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Defender for Office. PowerShell & Graph scripting & administration.
• Advantageous: Teams App Management, SharePoint & Power Apps, DMARC Analysis tooling, Amazon SES & other Bulk Messaging related technologies.

Experience in Audio/Visual design in corporate settings, Meeting/Board/Training Rooms, Auditorium & Townhall Event Spaces.

• Core: Crestron, Bi-Amp, Shure, Microsoft, QSC solutions with a solid understanding in audio, acoustics & lighting principles.
• Advantageous: Yealink, Neat & Logitech solutions. Auto Desk & CAD design experience in AV schematics.

Preferred qualifications / certifications

• Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone, Calling Plans, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Teams Phone Mobile, voice routing, SBC integration and telephony governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, certified Teams devices, shared spaces, room standards, Pro Management Portal and enterprise meeting room operations.
• Experience with Crestron, Logitech, Poly and related workplace AV technologies.
• Experience supporting collaboration and messaging technologies within a Microsoft-centric enterprise environment, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 Groups and identity-integrated services.
• Understanding of contact-centre, compliance recording, customer communication platforms and integration patterns with Microsoft Teams and wider UC services.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, service management and governance frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Teams admin center, Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal, PowerShell and Call Quality Dashboard.

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• ITIL Foundation or higher
