Job Summary

The LCSW/LPC Lead, under general supervision, is responsible for assisting with overall program development, quality, operations, and improvement. The Lead abides by guidelines and expectations specific to the clinical area in which they provide patient care and establishes a learning alliance with staff to increase knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes. As needed and appropriate under Team Supervisor direction, the Lead may offer employees guidance and support, participate in clinic policy planning and implementation, and schedule and coordinate assigned work to assure services provision (e.g., coverage). The Lead strives to create positive customer experience by committing to higher standards. Clinical responsibilities vary to specific clinical setting and include providing clinical services appropriate to degree and license.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides direct service as assigned to patient population served and specific to professional degree, license, and clinical service. (80%)
  • Generate documentation of clinical services in the medical record in a timely fashion. Completion of care coordination tasks as appropriate to clinical service. (10%)
  • Work in collaboration with the team Supervisor and all other members of the team to improve overall program development. This includes routine communication with the Supervisor regarding staff, services, activities, and problems needing departmental attention. Provides administrative support and assists in developing, implementing and interpreting policies, procedures, and programs. Delegate authority and responsibility, as appropriate. Participates or provides leadership of department, agency, and community meetings or task groups, as assigned. Participates in clinical education of learners as seen fit by the supervising medical staff and clinical team. (10%)

Education:
  • Master's Degree from a certified Master’s program in psychology, counseling, social work, or other related human services degree. Required

Work Experience:
  • 1-3 years of post-master's direct social work or clinical counseling experience in an organized clinical setting. Required

Licenses:
  • LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW State Licensing Board Required or
  • LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC State Licensing Board Required or
  • ACD-Licensed Addiction Counselor - NAADAC - The Association for Addiction Professionals Required and
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of clinical social work and/or clinical counseling and the patient population served.
  • Performs patient care in accordance with evidence-based clinical framework; achieves high standards of care through the implementation and supervision of evidence based services and application of clinical policies and procedure
  • Knowledge and the ability to audit for compliance of State, Federal and Agency mandated documentation; may include knowledge of applicable substance abuse treatment rules and regulations pertaining to the programs(s) supervised.
  • Knowledge of change in leadership and/or learn management. Possesses skills needed to participate effectively in a leadership role with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff, professionals, families, and outside organizations.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value.
  • Possesses critical thinking skills that lead to the identification of the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Proficient with computers and technology including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and electronic medical record.
  • Manages a high volume of email and other communication.
