We are searching for the best talent for our LATAM Transportation Manager, located in Sao Paulo Brazil or Bogota Colombia.

Purpose: This is an exciting and impactful new position in J&J MedTech that will have responsibility for outbound transportation operations throughout the Latin America region (Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and South America). Working in close partnership with MedTech distribution and warehousing teams throughout the region, this role will drive performance and efficiency for the business while always ensuring customer and patient needs remain paramount.

You will be responsible for:

• Lead, develop, and engage direct and matrixed teams; set priorities, assess performance, and build succession and capability plans.

• Own end-to-end regional outbound transportation execution, service recovery, escalation management, crisis response, and business continuity.

• Serve as the primary outbound transportation leader for MedTech businesses, establishing governance, service expectations, decision rights, and executive reporting.

• Partner with Procurement in the supplier RFP and contracting process, evaluate new suppliers, identify and advocate for new required capabilities, monitor supplier performance and ensure suppliers are meeting contractual commitments or developing and executing remediation plans when necessary.

• Lead carrier governance, including SLAs, KPIs, business reviews, corrective actions, capacity, contracts, and sourcing implementation.

• Own service, customer, patient, quality, and cost performance, including OTIF-D, claims, premium freight, accessorials, and remediation plans.

• Partner with Quality on claims, OS&D investigations, quality events, SOP compliance, audit readiness, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

• Own budget planning, forecasting, accruals, variance and savings delivery, freight-payment controls, invoice exceptions, and billing disputes.

• Partner with transportation technology, data quality, reporting & analytics and IT teams to drive new capabilities across the region and support Global/Enterprise transformation and innovation initiatives.

• Drive lane, mode, carrier, and network optimization; lead transportation workstreams for site transitions and strategic supply-chain programs.

• Standardize regional processes, SOPs, escalation protocols, and controls using structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.

• Monitor transportation regulations, trade requirements, market conditions, and carrier-network changes; implement required controls.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; engineering, finance or supply chain management preferred

• Master’s Degree or MBA preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• Minimum eight years of supply chain or operations experience, including significant transportation operations responsibility.

• Demonstrated people leadership and ability to influence senior stakeholders across regional and global matrixed organizations.

• Experience with carrier contracts, material freight budgets, forecasting, savings, operational KPIs, and incident response.

• Experience with warehouse and transportation management systems, ERP platforms, business-intelligence tools, and transportation analytics.

• English proficiency required.

Preferred:

• Experience managing multi-country carrier networks across parcel, LTL, truckload, air, ocean, courier, and temperature-controlled services.

• Knowledge of GDP/GxP, medical device distribution, transportation quality management, and Lean/Six Sigma or comparable process efficiency frameworks.

• Project and change-management experience supporting network, process, technology, or organizational transformation.

• Experience in a company distributing highly-regulated products such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, life science.

Other:

• Role is office-based and administrative in nature; no special physical requirements

• Up to 20% travel may be required
