The Role

As a L2 Electrical / HVAC Engineer, you will responsible for maintaining the reliable operation and performance of the AI data center cooling infrastructure. The scope is limited to the CDUs and secondary cooling loops. BDx engineers shall cover pumps, heat exchangers, manifolds and facility cooling systems. Together with BDx engineers, our engineer monitors and troubleshoots temperature, flow, pressure, differential pressure, coolant quality, dew-point margin and leak-detection alarms; performs preventive and corrective maintenance; analyzes trends to identify degradation; manages cooling redundancy and failover; and coordinates with L1 technicians, IT teams and OEM specialists during cooling incidents.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor, operate, and maintain critical electrical and HVAC systems within a 24x7 AI Data Center environment.
  • Provide operational relief coverage for shift engineers and facility operations teams.
  • Support UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water systems, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response activities.
  • Monitor facility performance through BMS/DCIM platforms and respond to alarms and anomalies.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and uptime requirements.

Your Future at Kyndryl

This role gives you the opportunity to deepen your expertise in high-speed networking for GPU, AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments while expanding your capabilities across RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand, fabric telemetry and automation. As your experience grows, you can progress toward senior network engineering, fabric specialist, architecture or technical leadership roles, supported by continuous learning and hands-on experience in mission-critical environments.

Who You Are

You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important, you have a growth mindset and are keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused, someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you’re open and borderless, naturally inclusive in how you work with others.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or equivalent recognized technical qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining mission-critical HVAC/cooling systems, preferably in data centers, semiconductor facilities, hospitals, telecommunications facilities or other 24×7 critical environments.
  • Working knowledge of chillers, cooling towers/dry coolers, pumps, heat exchangers, CRAH/AHU systems, valves, piping and BMS controls.
  • Experience with liquid cooling systems, CDUs, secondary cooling loops or high-density data center cooling is highly desirable.
  • Able to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment schematics and BMS alarms/trends.
  • Able to troubleshoot temperature, flow, pressure, differential-pressure, pump, valve, heat-exchanger, water-quality and leak-detection issues.
  • Willing and able to provide 24×7 shift/on-call support and respond to critical facility incidents.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with SOP, MOP, EOP, preventive maintenance, change management, incident management and root-cause analysis (RCA) is a plus.
  • Understanding of cooling-system redundancy, such as N+1 and 2N, and maintenance/failover procedures for mission-critical environments is a plus.
  • OEM training or certifications for CDU/liquid-cooling systems would be advantageous but can be provided after employment.
