Jr. BIM Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a Junior BIM Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects in Abu Dhabi.

Working under the guidance of the BIM Coordinator and senior project team members, the Junior BIM Engineer will support the day-to-day implementation of BIM processes. The role requires strong computer, CAD, BIM, and technical skills to assist in developing accurate two-dimensional and three-dimensional models for drawing production, quality checking, coordination, and constructability review.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Use Revit for three-dimensional modelling and support model‑based workflows across projects.
• Apply a basic understanding of Revit families and design libraries when developing and updating project models.
• Follow project modelling standards and naming conventions to maintain consistency and quality in the digital model.
• Support the creation and maintenance of Revit templates and contribute to effective model organisation.
• Assist with the preparation of drawing views and model‑based documentation for design and coordination purposes.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of European and British Standards, including relevant BS and PAS series.
• Maintain awareness of ISO 19650 and core information management principles in relation to BIM delivery.
• Follow Common Data Environment (CDE) procedures for model sharing, version control, and information exchange.
• Contribute to Project Information Model (PIM) delivery and support digital delivery methods as required.
• Assist with quality assurance, model validation, and compliance checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Participate in collaboration and coordination activities, including clash detection workflows.
• Support basic quantity take‑off and scheduling workflows using model data.
• Maintain awareness of Asset Information Models (AIM), COBie, operation and maintenance information, and asset tagging requirements.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Architechtural Engineering programs from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in BIM, Revit, CAD, engineering design, or construction documentation may be considered.
• Basic to intermediate experience using current versions of Revit.
• Proficiency in preparing and updating two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Fundamental understanding of BIM workflows, modeling standards, Level of Development, naming conventions, and parametric modeling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to set up and work within Revit project files under the guidance of senior BIM team members.
• Working experience in creating or modifying Revit families in accordance with project requirements.
• Familiarity with Revit links, worksets, shared coordinates, and federated models is preferred.
• Basic understanding of clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or similar software.
• Experience with the following platforms is desirable:
  • Essential or preferred: Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, and Dynamo.
  • Additional software: ProjectWise, Synchro, Bluebeam Studio, SketchUp, Autodesk Inventor, or 3ds Max.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650, PAS 1192, BS 1192, or other applicable BIM standards is preferred.
• Infrastructure, bridge, tunnel, transportation, or civil engineering project experience is advantageous.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new BIM and digital delivery tools.
• Good problem-solving, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate models and drawings.
