The Role

The Production Manager, Adjustment & Refining is responsible for leading the daily operations of the refining and smelting area, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes. This role combines operational leadership with strategic planning, driving productivity, continuous improvement, people development, and compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards.

What You'll Do (Impact Areas)

  • Lead the Refining and Adjustment production area to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors and frontline personnel, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives through Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor and improve production KPIs, including productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO and IATF standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Balance production planning activities with active shop floor engagement and execution oversight.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts related to production, quality, process performance, and operational stability.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, EHS, and Supply Chain teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Utilize data analysis tools and operational metrics to support decision-making and process optimization.
  • Develop and execute action plans that improve operational performance, safety culture, and employee engagement.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience within manufacturing, smelting, metallurgical, refining, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Experience leading large operational teams through frontline supervisors.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgical or foundry processes.
  • Experience working in a hands-on production environment with significant shop floor presence.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and operational metrics.
  • Intermediate to advanced English.

Preferred

  • Experience with Core Tools, TPM, and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of ISO and IATF requirements.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel, and data-driven operational management.
  • Background working with metals such as lead, aluminum, steel, or other metallurgical processes.

Work Model & Schedule

  • Onsite position located in Ciénega de Flores.
  • Highly operational role with frequent presence on the production floor.
  • Requires flexibility and availability to support operational needs when business conditions demand it.
  • Expected balance of planning, execution, employee engagement, and shop floor leadership.
