Job Description

We are looking for an IT Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and drive multiple large IT projects through successful completion while ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, timelines, and budgets. IT Project Manager will be responsible for supporting new-build cruise ship initiatives and application deployment projects. This position will be an 18-month contract and remote. Extensive international travel is required, including the ability to travel continuously for 5-6 months at a time. Candidates must be willing to work extended hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support project milestones and ship deployment schedules.

Due to contractual requirements associated with this role, this position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Do

  • Manage multiple moderately complex IT projects concurrently from initiation through deployment
  • Manage 20-40 application deployment projects simultaneously, supporting the implementation of technology solutions across shipboard systems and venues
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocations, risk logs, and status reports
  • Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Development, Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Coordinate project resources and monitor workload priorities to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams, stakeholders, vendors, and business partners
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and budget impacts
  • Review project documentation, deployment plans, testing requirements, operational handoff materials, and implementation activities
  • Monitor hardware procurement, inventory tracking, and deployment readiness to support project timelines
  • Lead project status meetings and provide updates regarding schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance project execution, efficiency, and cost savings
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, company standards, and quality requirements
  • Support team development and foster collaboration across project teams
  • Lead hands-on project execution activities and independently drive deliverables through completion
  • Support technology deployments aboard cruise ships during new-build and dry dock initiatives
  • Coordinate implementation activities across domestic and international project sites, including shipyards and vessel deployment locations
  • Support operational readiness, testing, implementation, and deployment activities in dynamic shipboard environments

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously within established budgets and timelines
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience creating and maintaining project plans, resource schedules, risk assessments, and status reporting
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and vendor relationships
  • Experience facilitating testing, deployment, implementation, and operational readiness activities
  • Proficiency with project management tools and reporting systems
  • High-energy, self-motivated, and proactive approach with the ability to thrive in fast-paced project environments
  • Hands-on project management experience with application development, software deployment, or enterprise application implementation projects
  • Ability to independently execute project activities and deliver results without relying solely on delegation
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods, including continuous travel assignments lasting up to 5-6 months at a time
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deployment schedules, and operational demands
  • Valid travel documents

Preferred:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Cruise line industry experience
  • Experience supporting ship new-build programs and/or dry dock initiatives
  • Experience managing infrastructure, software deployment, or enterprise technology projects
  • Experience in logistics, hardware deployment, inventory management, or large-scale implementation initiatives
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
  • Experience supporting operational technology environments, hospitality, travel, maritime, cruise, or related industries

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings and project activities
  • Ability to work aboard operational vessels, new-build ships, and shipyard environments during deployment activities
  • Ability to remain mobile for extended periods, including frequent walking, climbing stairs, standing, and moving throughout ships and project sites
  • Ability to work in environments where heating, air conditioning, and electrical power may be limited or unavailable during certain phases of deployment activities
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
  • May require extensive domestic and international travel to shipyards, deployment locations, and project sites as needed, including locations throughout Europe and other global regions
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support critical project milestones and deployment events
