The Internal Legal Specialist (Garnishments) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated join our PJR - Legal Operations team. This entry-level role is responsible for supporting operations by reviewing garnishment tasks to ensure accounts are properly handled, made payable, and released. The ideal candidate will thrive in a goal-driven environment and contribute to maintaining a clean inventory, handling legal documentation, and improving operational workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, review, and file legal documents, this includes, garnishments, releases and turnover orders. Review account-level details and execute assigned tasks efficiently and accurately within established timelines for garnishment accounts.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory by clearing backlogs and ensuring timely updates. Monitor account quality and ensure compliance with internal standards.
- Partner with operations leadership, team members, paralegals, and attorneys to meet monthly production goals.
- Identify and resolve issues through problem-solving and collaboration. Contribute to process improvement efforts and assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 Years customer service or clerical experience
Legal Collections experience (preferred)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
- Experience with data entry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fundamental reading comprehension and basic math skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and understands the importance of consistency.
- Basic understanding of legal terminology and document handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint).
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable and consistent in meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving processes and systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Takes full responsibility for assigned tasks and follows through to completion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working in the legal field
