POSITION TITLE: Infrastructure Engineer
POSITION DUTIES: Installs network equipment independently and works with Facilities group to prepare environments to house network infrastructure devices: Installs and documents network infrastructures including: Routers, Switches, WLAN, Converged IP Networks, Firewalls and VPN's; Performs security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments. Provides support of network issues: Troubleshoots complex heterogeneous networks and works with multiple teams; Effectively communicates technical solutions/recommendations to various non-technical audiences; Evaluates network management tools and techniques and provides feedback; Reviews the performance and capacity of existing networks by interpreting reports and providing report findings. Maintains documentation of all changes to the production environment through the change management system: Documents and updates network diagrams to reflect changes made to the production network in Visio drawings and added to the drawing database. Designs and validates network solutions to meet business requirements by configuring and testing hardware to include procurement, testing, and installing network infrastructure hardware aligned with vendor technical guidelines and Enterprise standards: Works in cooperation with other network personnel to properly configure network equipment for the environment; Communicates effectively with internal customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions through project management; Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships; Remains technically current of new technologies through reading, seminars, workshops and vendor information: Participates in design of infrastructure with experts from other groups; Participates in Enterprise standards meetings, as required, to discuss emerging technologies. Job Description:

Education Requirement:   Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Networking, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

Experience Requirement: 6 months of network engineering-related experience

Specific Requirements:       

Understanding client requirements to be able to cater to their appropriate needs;   Device racking and setup for network devices like -switches, router, wireless controller, access point;    Configuring Cisco catalyst switches for wired/wireless end-device access, network setup and new network devices staging and configure/stage Cisco wireless controller for wireless access for small, medium or big campus deployment;   Mount, configure cisco WAP for wireless network coverage and work with customers to resolve wireless coverage issues;   Documenting processes and keeping event logs and evaluating existing wireless coverage for customers using active or passive site surveys;   Designing or remediating existing wireless using Airmagnet and Ekahau tools;   Providing Level-1/2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues for customers;   Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for network related problem resolution and replacing faulty network hardware components when required;  Working with client support technicians to provide solutions for customers' wireless communications requirements and solutions and preparing work orders containing instructions to be used by client support technicians to configure network hardware and software;   Working with cabling team for wireless design layout and mounting of wireless access point and performing access point/router/switch/network hardware and software upgrades;   Creating and maintaining network devices inventory for office network; creating Visio diagrams and other high level network designs; and creating Bill of Material (BOM) for proposed design for customers;   Designing and configuring high density wireless network for business-critical infrastructures like healthcare, airports and education system and designing and configuring Cisco cloud wireless solution - Cisco Meraki;   Configuration and setup network security solutions like Cisco ISE and Cisco-Prime infrastructure for end users and configuration of WAP using proper radio parameters; and   Performing presales and post-sales work and managing vendor relations for purchases, maintenance, and warranty contracts and assisting with NOC/ TOC related duties when required.
 

RATE OF PAY:     $63.46 to $95.19 per hour

Pay Range is $64.93 to $97.40 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
