The Practice- A Brief Sketch: 

Digital Thread and Connected Twins are part of Accenture Supply Chain Consulting. The practice helps clients connect product, process and supply network decisions across the concept-to-service journey, linking strategy, operations, data and AI to improve resilience, efficiency and business performance. 

You’ll work with global clients to define the value case, roadmap and operating priorities for connected value chains. The work spans product development, engineering, manufacturing, planning, quality, logistics and service, with a focus on practical use cases that improve visibility, traceability, scenario testing and decision-making. 

Digital Thread 

Digital Thread focuses on establishing a connected data and process foundation across the concept-to-service value chain. It links information, decisions and workflows across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and service functions to create a common operational view, improve traceability and enable real-time, data-driven decision making. 

• Digital Thread strategies and transformation roadmaps that connect product, process and operational data across PLM, ERP, MES, CRM and supply chain ecosystems. 

• Digital Thread use cases involving connected BOMs, product traceability, engineering change management, configuration management, quality visibility and concept-to-service process integration. 

• Current-state assessments and future-state operating model design that improve end-to-end visibility, data continuity, operational responsiveness and decision-making across the value chain. 

Connected Twins 

Connected Twins build on the Digital Thread foundation by creating virtual representations of products, assets, factories, warehouses, facilities, processes and supply networks. These twins enable organizations to simulate scenarios, evaluate outcomes, test operational decisions and understand performance before implementing changes in the physical world. 

• Connected Twin use cases spanning products, manufacturing operations, warehouses, facilities, logistics networks and end-to-end supply chains. 

• Simulation-led decision making through scenario modelling, disruption analysis, capacity planning, network optimization, inventory strategies and operational risk assessment. 

• Process architecture and future-state workflow design using process simulators, AI copilots, agentic decision-support frameworks and digital representations of physical operations in collaboration with senior business stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead Digital Thread and Connected Twin transformation programs from strategy through execution across product development, manufacturing, supply chain and service functions 

• Develop business cases, transformation roadmaps and investment strategies for clients seeking to improve traceability, visibility, operational resilience and decision intelligence 

• Shape Digital Thread strategies across PLM, ERP, MES, CRM, APS and supply chain ecosystems to improve product lifecycle visibility and concept-to-service integration 

• Define Connected Twin strategies and use cases spanning products, manufacturing operations, warehouses, logistics networks, facilities and end-to-end supply chains 

• Lead executive workshops and client discussions focused on value realization, operating model transformation, AI readiness, simulation capabilities and supply chain resilience 

• Drive process architecture, future-state operating models and enterprise decision-support frameworks enabled by Digital Thread, Connected Twins and GenAI 

• Lead scenario simulation initiatives involving network optimization, disruption analysis, inventory strategies, manufacturing performance, quality improvement and supply chain risk assessment 

• Define GenAI-enabled decision intelligence capabilities, agentic workflows and AI copilots that support operational planning and business decision making 

• Contribute to pre-sales activities including opportunity qualification, client presentations, solution development, proposal creation and business case development 

• Develop industry-specific offerings, consulting methodologies, reusable assets, accelerators and thought leadership related to Digital Thread and Connected Twins 

• Partner with Industry X, Data & AI, Supply Chain, Engineering and Technology teams to develop integrated client solutions 

• Build and mentor high-performing consulting teams while supporting capability development, knowledge management and career growth

Your experience counts! 

• MBA from a tier 1 institute with work experience in consulting or related fields preferred 

• 7+ years of Hands-on experience developing digital twin or simulation-based prototypes to model physical products, assets, operations or supply networks, enabling scenario analysis, disruption testing and performance optimization 

•  

• Proven experience leading transformation programs involving Digital Thread, Digital Twins, Connected Twins, process intelligence, GenAI or enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives 

• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, manufacturing operations, supply chain planning, logistics, quality management and service operations 

• Experience with Digital Thread ecosystems spanning PLM, ERP, MES, CRM, APS, product structures, connected BOMs, configuration management and engineering change processes 

• Experience leading initiatives involving supply chain visibility, control towers, decision intelligence, simulation, scenario planning, network modelling or operational resilience 

• Practical experience with GenAI, agentic workflows, AI copilots, prompt engineering and enterprise AI transformation initiatives 

• Experience working with process discovery and process mining platforms such as Celonis, Signavio or Power Automate Process Mining 

• Exposure to industrial IoT, connected operations, digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0 or smart operations programs is highly desirable 

• Experience owning client relationships, leading workstreams, managing teams and supporting business development activities 

• Industry experience in Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Consumer Goods, Retail, Life Sciences, High Tech, Energy, Utilities, Telecom, Oil & Gas or BFSI is desirable 

• Experience implementing responsible AI, governance and risk management frameworks for enterprise AI deployments
