Currently, we are seeking a motivated and experienced HR Generalist to join our HR team at our Brampton office. This role is focussed on our LATAM operations.
The Role
The HR Generalist is the first point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters. You'll support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to off-boarding, for corporate staff and shop and warehouse teams.
Employee Support and Relations
- Respond to employee and manager questions about policies, benefits, leaves and general HR matters.
- Help managers with employee relations issues: document concerns, sit in on meetings, and prepare warning letters and performance improvement plans.
- Help with workplace investigations by gathering statements, keeping records and preparing summaries.
- Run exit interviews and coordinate offboarding, including returning company property and removing system access.
Onboarding and HR Administration
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, system setup and first-day logistics.
- Keep employee records in Workday accurate for new hires, job changes, transfers and terminations.
- Prepare HR documents such as employment letters, confirmation of employment, promotion letters and policy acknowledgements.
- Keep personnel files organized, confidential and audit-ready.
Payroll, Benefits and Leaves
- Send Payroll accurate employee changes, new hire details and termination information on time.
- Enroll employees in group benefits, process changes and answer benefit questions.
- Track leaves of absence (medical, parental, statutory) and coordinate return-to-work dates.
- Help Safety & Compliance with WSIB claims documentation and accommodation requests.
Compliance and Programs
- Help keep the company compliant with the Ontario ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code and AODA.
- Help update and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook.
- Track mandatory training and certifications.
- Support the performance review cycle, engagement initiatives and new hire 30/60/90-day check-ins.
Reporting
- Prepare HR reports on headcount, turnover, absenteeism and probation tracking.
- Help with HR process improvements and special projects.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required as this role is for our LATAM Operations
- 2–4 years of HR Generalist or HR Coordinator experience.
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code).
- Hands-on experience with HRIS data entry and maintenance. Workday is an asset.
- Experience handling employee relations matters and HR documentation.
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- CHRP designation (or working toward it) is an asset.
- Experience in transportation, logistics or a high-volume, multi-site environment is an asset.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Discretion and sound judgment with confidential information.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
