The Opportunity

The SandboxAQ Recruiting team is an exceptional group of Recruiters, Sourcers, and Coordinators dedicated to scaling a team of elite scientists, engineers, and business leaders. We are seeking a Hiring Experience and Operations Manager to join our Recruiting team. This role is central to building a top-tier Recruitment Engine that blends advanced automation with human-centric design. You will own the holistic hiring experience across all audiences: candidates, interviewers, hiring managers, stakeholders, and the recruiting team itself.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruiting Infrastructure and Analytics: Manage and optimize our recruiting tech stack to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and output of our team, and ensure our tooling streamlines workflows, captures high-fidelity hiring signals, and helps us measure the candidate experience and long-term quality of hire.

• Holistic Experience & Enablement: Own the end-to-end hiring journey for all stakeholders, leveraging a world-class experience as a strategic advantage in our hiring efforts. Partner closely with HR, Finance, onboarding, and immigration to build seamless workflows and proactively triage complex operational issues. You will optimize processes from headcount planning to offer execution, manage interviewer load balancing, and spearhead enablement programs to ensure our teams assess talent effectively.

• Team Leadership: Lead and grow a team of high-performing Recruiting Coordinators, ensuring the flawless execution of complex interview scheduling, travel arrangements, and on-site candidate experiences. Lead from the front by rolling up your sleeves to provide extra capacity across the team, whether that means stepping in as a Recruiter on open positions, resolving unique candidate issues, or assisting with high-profile coordination needs.

• Employer Branding & Strategic Partnerships: Drive global talent branding and craft a compelling employer value proposition that positions SandboxAQ as a premier destination for elite frontier-tech talent. Spearhead our campus recruiting strategy and cultivate deep relationships with key universities and industry communities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting Operations, or a similar function, with 1+ years of direct people management experience.

• Operational Excellence & Tooling Strategy: Proven track record of optimizing recruitment workflows and tech stacks. Demonstrated ability to integrate automation or AI tools that drastically improve team efficiency and enhance candidate signal capture.

• Data-Driven & Analytical Rigor: Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure hiring experience metrics, validate the effectiveness of evaluation criteria, manage interviewer load, and translate recruiting data into actionable insights on the quality of hire.

• Exceptional Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Highly collaborative with a proven ability to build strong partnerships with HR, Finance, and hiring managers to streamline operations. Experience building and delivering interviewer training, hiring manager enablement, and structuring smooth, highly-calibrated assessment processes.

• Startup Agility & Execution: A builder’s mindset with the willingness and capability to dive into the trenches and manage full-cycle recruiting—from sourcing to closing talent—whenever business capacity demands it.

Highly Desired Skills & Experience

• Frontier Technology and/or Startup Experience: Prior experience navigating the high-velocity, ambiguous landscape of venture-backed deep-tech or AI startups.

• AI Tooling Fluency: Hands-on experience building, testing, or deploying next-generation AI recruiting tools to elevate operational output and interview intelligence.

• Employer Branding Expertise: Demonstrated history of successfully designing and launching talent branding campaigns, campus strategies, career pages, or tech-focused recruitment marketing materials.

• Foundation in Recruiting/Sourcing: Prior experience as a full-cycle Recruiter or Technical Sourcer. You deeply understand the day-to-day realities, workflows, and challenges of the recruitment lifecycle you are managing and optimizing.
