Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
Location: Taneytown, MD
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Starting Pay: $24.00/hour — higher pay available depending on experience
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to service, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized machinery. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical skills, safe work practices, and the ability to address equipment problems promptly.
Some travel may be required for training, meetings, maintenance, repairs, or other work assignments.

- High school diploma/GED plus trade school, dealership, or factory service training in diesel mechanical repair and maintenance equivalent to associate-level technical training.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and respond to urgent repair needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair are preferred/required as applicable.
- Additional certifications may be required based on assigned duties.
