This is not a job for everyone. We hold an extremely high bar because we believe talent density is our biggest competitive advantage. We're looking for people who actively choose hard, ambiguous problems, who run toward unglamorous work, give and receive candid feedback, and bring relentless resilience without the ego. Our work is important, but we are not self-important. We do this because we’re solving one of the hardest problems in the world, and the problem matters. If that's you, we disproportionately reward it.
About the Role
As the Head of People Strategy & Ops, you will report into our VP of Operations & People and lead the People Strategy & Operations function, while also partnering closely with our Executive, Finance, IT, Clinical Strategy, Sales, and Engineering teams. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and execution of Nourish’s People function, and partner closely with the executive team and department heads to uphold Nourish’s high talent bar, develop & retain our team members, and drive performance across the company as we scale. We have a high-performance, ambitious, and fun culture, and you will be in charge of bolstering this and increasing our talent density as we scale.
This role is full-time and open to NYC-based candidates only (expectation to work in-person ~3 days per week, with some additional remote flexibility). Our office is located in Gramercy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manage the People Strategy & Operations function, driving best-in-class execution + speed. Build the team as we scale, owning org design, planning, tech stack, hiring, and critical metrics for your function
- Drive strategy for the People function, including projects related to talent density, employee upskilling, manager enablement, employee retention, performance management, and culture. Drive creation of the strategic roadmap and execution on strategic projects via yourself and your team
- Build the operating system required to scale; design the processes, tools, and decision-making cadences that help the People team and cross-functional teams sharpen performance and drive results
- Own all People Operations processes and systems; continually work to optimize the system and drive efficiency gains via automation, tech, and process redesign. Own the People tech stack, budget & vendor relationships
- Be a trusted partner to the executive team and department heads, helping our leaders drive performance of their teams and acting as the voice of the people (upwards) and voice of the people team (outwards)
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You have 7–10 years of experience, with a mix of strategy work (e.g., management consulting, business operations, financial services) and start-up experience; direct People and Talent-related experience preferred but not required
- You have strong people instincts and communication skills, with the ability to influence Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders, and craft the Nourish culture as we scale
- You’re a strategic thinker who uses data and first principles to solve problems, and you aren’t afraid to do things the unconventional way. You’re open to challenging mainstream thinking if it doesn’t work for Nourish
- You’re operationally excellent; you’re able to manage a high volume of moving pieces and competing priorities with strong attention to detail and organization skills, while still maintaining momentum and clarity in a fast-paced environment
- You’re highly collaborative and cross-functional, able to work effectively across departments to advance towards goals
- You’re energized by 0→1 and 1→10 work, and enjoy stepping into undefined spaces to build structure, momentum, and clarity where none exists
