We are seeking talented individuals to join our Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) team at Marsh People and Investments. Interns will spend their 10-week internship in either Phoenix, AZ, Minneapolis, MN, or Seattle, WA. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Interns relocating for the summer are eligible for a relocation bonus. 

Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program in the United States designed to provide healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. As a consulting firm specializing in Medicaid, Marsh People and Investments' GHSC team assists state governments in optimizing their Medicaid programs. Our team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing Medicaid claims data to enhance patient access to care, improve cost efficiency, and elevate the quality of services provided to these individuals. We will count on you to:  

Assist in the management and analysis of Medicaid claims data to identify trends and insights that drive improvements in healthcare access and quality.  

Support the development of analytical models and tools that evaluate cost efficiency and effectiveness of care delivery within the Medicaid program.  

Collaborate with team members to prepare reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.  

Participate in projects aimed at helping state governments maximize their Medicaid coverage and budget utilization.  

Engage in data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analyses.  

What you need to have:  

Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, data science, economics, mathematics, statistics, public health or a related field    

Status as a currently enrolled student; candidates should have an expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028  

Minimum GPA of 3.0 / 4.0   

Experience utilizing programming language such as SAS, Python, or SQL 

Legal work authorization in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

You don’t need prior health care or SAS experience to succeed here.  

Every new hire starts with a two-week classroom-style programming course and a dedicated mentor. 

You'll also complete introductory trainings on claims data so you understand what you're analyzing and why it matters.  

Historically, many of our strongest interns have gone on to receive full-time offers as Government Health Informatics Analysts.
