Position Overview
Lansing Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Gifted & Talented Teacher with deep content knowledge of reading and math. The ideal candidate is a dynamic educator who is passionate about challenging and inspiring gifted learners, fostering a culture of critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a project-based curriculum tailored to gifted and talented students.
Utilize inquiry-based, problem-solving, and discovery-driven instructional approaches to cultivate deep learning.
Encourage students to engage in higher-order thinking, abstract reasoning, and mathematical modeling.
Foster an interactive, student-centered classroom environment that promotes collaboration and discourse.
Communicate regularly with parents and administrators regarding student progress.
Be present for the entire program.
Qualifications
State teaching certification (preferred)
Proven track record of success in teaching.
Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students at an advanced level.
Strong knowledge of math and reading skills and strategies.
Exceptional ability to foster intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and creativity.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and faculty.
