As a Data Engineer Associate, you will engage in developing innovative software solutions to drive digital transformation and enhance business performance. Within our Advisory practice, you will focus on designing, coding, and testing applications that transform industries and deliver exceptional user experiences. As an Associate, you will contribute to client engagement and projects while developing your skills and knowledge to deliver quality work. You will be exposed to clients to learn how to build meaningful connections, manage and inspire others, and grow your personal brand by deepening your technical knowledge of firm services and technology resources.

Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, data products, and analytics solutions using Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks. 

• Build and enhance cloud-based data solutions using Azure services and modern data platforms. 

• Apply data modeling, Delta Lake, lakehouse, and data warehouse concepts to meet business and analytics needs. 

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. 

• Support testing, debugging, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning to improve solution quality and reliability. 

• Use version control, CI/CD, and development best practices to support efficient and dependable delivery. 

• Contribute to GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation initiatives under appropriate technical guidance. 

• Continuously build technical skills and adopt new tools and engineering practices. 
   
   

What You Must Have 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field. 

• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering, software development, analytics engineering, or a related technology role. 

• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, and data pipeline development. 

• Exposure to Databricks or a comparable cloud data platform, such as Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake. 

• Familiarity with Azure services, data lakes, lakehouse architecture, and data warehousing concepts. 

• Understanding of Git, testing, debugging, and CI/CD fundamentals. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. 
   
   

What Sets You Apart 

• Hands-on experience with Databricks workflows, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, or Asset Bundles. 

• Awareness of Generative AI, RAG, large language models, semantic search, or related AI technologies. 

• Exposure to automated testing, data quality checks, monitoring, or performance optimization. 

• Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for improving how the Tax Innovation Data team delivers work.
