Freight Planner – Lytton, QLD
Job Description / The Role –
We're looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Freight Planner to join our Energy division in Lytton, where you'll play a critical role in coordinating transport operations, optimising fleet utilisation, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for our customers.
You’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring resources are utilised efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. You'll work closely with subcontractors, transport providers, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver operational excellence across a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities, but not limited to -
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly vehicle and freight requirements.
- Optimise transport schedules and load planning to maximise efficiency.
- Coordinate subcontractors and transport providers to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor operational performance and proactively manage service issues.
- Ensure compliance with fatigue management, load restraint, and transport legislation.
- Investigate service failures, loss, or damage incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Act as a key communication point for customers and operational stakeholders.
What We’re Looking for to Drive Success –
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, freight planning, or supply chain operations.
- Strong operational knowledge within logistics and transport environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong customer service focus and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience using transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
